Fondren's final stats
31.0 minutes/game

13.0 ppg - 2nd on team

5.2 rpg - 2nd on team.

3.8 assists/game

2.2 steals/game (very impressive)

Shot 38.8% overall

26.3% from the arc. Took the most shots on the team. That won't happen for us.

60% from the line. Took the 2nd most attempts on the team.

RE: Fondren's final stats
He definitely is not a 3-point shooter. In his freshman season he only made 25.0% of his shots. But he does shoot a lot of FTs, which makes me think he may be a pretty good penetrator. And he hit 70% of his FTs in his freshman year.

RE: Fondren's final stats
Let him play defense, get steals and rebounds, and pass the ball to someone else to shoot. That should definitely be his role. We don't need 27% three point shooters taking many shots. And I sure don't like the 60% free throw percentage for a guard. He'll need to work on that.

He'll shoot better here because Steve stresses taking good shots. I really don't think we had the best shooters in the NCAA. But we were #1 in the 3 point shooting at one time because we took good shots. Fondren will play more under control here and will be a very good player for us.
