Wofford has now won the Socon more times than C of C. I almost feel bad for C of C. They have been favored so many times to win the Socon and have only won it once.
From reading the C of C board apparently they had a lot of issues with roster depth, sort of like us.

I actually *do* feel sorry for the Saviors.....
Would like to have seen Goudelock (and local boy Wiggins) get at least one chance in the NCAAs........and I think they would have had a better chance of winning an NCAA game than Wofford, but I only think that by a small margin.....
I think C of C, like ETSU since the arrival of bartow, has underachieved under Cremins.

Poster, I think many a Charleston fan would agree with you. I know they had higher expectations than what they have achieved since joining the SoCon. Even before Bobby C.
Maybe they would come back to the A-Sux and replace Campbell. Win-win either way for the Bucs:
1) Its a good basketball school joining the league.
2) It opens up a spot for us to rejoin the SoCon.

Sounds good to me. Hell, the one time Charleston totally dominated the Socon was their first year in it after leaving the A-Sun, maybe they've always belonged here.

Like it or not Mid Major coaches are judged by getting their team to the big show....that is the goal of every team in every one bid league..and only one can go, so it takes one bad game, or one bad call, or a key injury or two to take you out..and the fans get very upset.. unless you are at a school that never goes..maybe those fans don't expect much..
I have relatives in Charleston, and the fans down there have been jumping off the Cremmins ship for the last couple of years because they hired a former national coach of the year..put millions into a new arena..put tons of money into the program.. and said now we will get to go to the dance.. well.. now it's been 12 YEARS,, with no invite and all those millions are spent..
The fans don't care that their second leading scorer could not play in the tourney.. they just know Wofford got their prize.. a school with a little bitty old gym.. and 1500 students!!!!!
They fired the last guy because he couldn't get them to the tourney.. he, like Cremmins, started off strong in the pre conference season and then got beat in the tourney.. remember one year they won the Great Alaskan Shootout and got ranked in the top 25.. and then ETSU or somebody else won the tourney..I think we won it a couple of years and helped to get him fired...
In the last year or two.. they had a bad game and got upset in the conference tourney..
They have had good teams.. but for a while Davidson was better.. and now Wofford for 2 years.. and ONLY ONE CAN GO!!!!!!!!
There for a while they were saying we can't beat McKillup..They wished they could get rid of their coach and hire him away from Davidson.. but now that Curry is gone..he is not a good coach anymore.. Maybe now they will want the guy at Wofford, but his great Senior class is gone probably after their next game.. two at the most.. and he probably won't be such a good coach next year!!!!!!!!
