Here are some stats
1) MD 10-21 and 8-8 = his best damn game of his life 28 big ones dumped on the chips. 2) Howard 19pts and 9 rebs, missing a double, double by 1 reb. 3) The Stain had a double, double with 10pts and 12 rebs 4) Hutch had 12pts and 3rebs. And He and DW gave it up on the defensive end, keeping the " Northern Lower Phenom known only as Zeigler to a very pedestrian 8 pts. So. our two baby's out there had a combined offensive total of 29pts. and 21 rebs for our two Freshman.. Did they have any kind of crowd???????

RE: Here are some stats
When I referenced Hutch and DWard giving it up on "D" heres what I mean. Zigzags stats were horrible. He was 4-18 in shots and 0-2 at the line. It is amusing that he's gone from Freshman wunderkind who was predicted to get Hooterville back to a MAC West Championship, to a kid that pretty damn lucky his ole man happens to coach that train wreck of a team......

That's been Zigs whole season. The few games they won he'd put together a solid game, but for the most part he'd take 22 shots, knock down 6, and get some free throws on his way to another loss.

And of course the MAC Media will make him the run away MAC Freshmen of the Year. 03-weeping

Seriously, DK was head and shoulders over Ziegler as a freshmen.

I would take either of the WMU frosh before TZ.
Matt Stainbrook should be MAC frosh of the year.

Johnny, we had such a contingent there it felt like UA north. And we were loud!! I know the team felt the support, they stayed very focused and totally in control, except for a slight lapse early in the 2nd half.

Frosh of the year? How about Juwann Howard Jr. with 19 pts. and nine rebounds on the road on the rivals home court?

Or, Matt Stainbrook with a double, double, in the championship clinching game (outright) on the road with his upperclassman sidekick on the bench??

It will be Zeigler...Frosh of the Year...count on it.

Anyone notice how much bigger Whittington is now? He has really put on the muscle. Next fall should be interesting to see which Stainbrook shows up and which Whittington shows up. Matt has soft hands which is a gift from God. However, Whittington has athletic gifts not possessed by Stainbrook.

Whittington can also play the 4, and that's where I expect to see him.

Sounds crazy, but I'd try and talk Dean into redshirting. He's got skills, things just need another year to develop. We don't need his depth next year, but the following year it could be very helpful.

2012

C- Stain, Dean, Whittington
PF- Hutch, Whittington, Dean
WF- Howard, Hutch, Perry
SG- Richie, HH
PG- Brown, Klein

RE: Here are some stats
A count of those actually in attendance would be south of the 3,000 mentioned above. At least it appeared like that to this fan. It was one of the quietest home crowds this fan has ever seen.

The game announcer was a true "homer". At one point early in the game, he would bellow out the CMU player when he hit the 3 pointer. as if it was a great achievement...................TREY ZEIGER HITS THE 3333333 POINTER. One of our fans followed it up a very short time later when Hutch hit the three in the first half in the loudest voice possible..................AND NATE HUTCHINSON HITS THE 333333333333333 POINTER.

I will tell you that the team announcements were as weak. When they announced the WMU players it was a weak voice and they ran the names together not allowing for any fan response. When it came to the CMU team announcement............the lights were dimmed, the spot light was turned on the Amps turned to ultra high, and the video screen came on to give a five minute CMU hightlight. Later the announcer would give the same dramatic call...............all on high amperage. There was no reaction from the CMU fans that I could detect. I thought the whole thing was a little over dramatic and bush.......

Always proud to be a Bronco.
