Making a Stainment!
You don't like it when others flop against you?

Use your right hand.

Most floppers go on the 2nd bump. They establish the premise on bump #1 with a manly shudder and "Umph". All setting up the 2nd one that "illustrates" it must be a foul to knock another big down after said big held ground on first "slam". Kinda like the 2nd time trying to open a stuck door.

You can't slide to your left to defend the drop step or swing and running hook if you are prepping to absorb the next slam and go down. Physically you are not in a position to defend. Take advantage of it.

Additionally, most will play Stain off that right shoulder to contest the left hand coming back across. They are a full 1/2 a man over to that shoulder. That creates the lane (Autobahn) for Stainbrook to take going to his right.

So these two additional moves negate the 2 bump flop and the always popular Card Table collapse on the first bump:

- Knowing they are a 1/2 body to the right shoulder immediately go drop step or swinging running hook. "By-pass the traffic congestion" taking the All Business route to the hole. Leave Lurch in the lurch.

- Catch so you can reverse pivot creating adequate space between yourself and the defender.
1. Catch and feign to the baseline. This will either get them to move that way OR prep to brace themself for the predictable move back to the middle.
2. Counter by reverse pivoting. This creates space moving backward when the defender is prepping to hold ground and or collapse back toward the bucket.
3. Kiss of the glass with a flat footed defender OR
4. If they adjust and come up to you (keeping in mind they are a full 1/2 man to your left shoulder [because you are now facing the hoop] you make a head and ball shot fake or jab step with ball fake to middle.
5. The defender straightens up, you cross over with left foot back to your right without dribbling going straight to the box for a bank shot.
6. They are a 1/2 to full body over (reacting to the fake) and or moving toward you or up to defend shot (not stationary).
7. Any contact is an And 1.

Phrase of the day - "....and the always popular Card Table collapse."

Particularly useful knowledge today against the flopping C's.

Bulling your way in worked in hs I'm sure, the first bump knocked them so far back that the shot was off and the second wasn't necessary. I'm sure he'll develop that drop step in the next year, maybe even while working with MD during the off season.
