Wait...hot and Sally Field don't seem to go together!

At least not the Boniva-pimping, Run Forest Run Sally Field.
But I might see your point with the Smokey and the Bandit Sally Field. Maybe.

It was a long time ago.

They don't. It's a site owned by an individual. The First Amendment says that CONGRESS shall make no laws interfering with the freedoms that the First Amendment protects. Neither Memphis Roar nor any of their mods are Congress. It's a private message board. Hence, the owner of the message board is within rights to set rules on speech.

Private board that is only fueled by those who choose to visit. Censoring speech because you are buddies with the coach is a bad idea, but so was charging for premium membership when you can make more money on ads if you know what you are doing.

How is that different from any other message board? MT.org is fueled by those that choose to visit here. YMT? The same. Every message board is a collection of registered users that CHOOSE to visit.

No. I moderate the boards because I think that respect is something that should be given online in the same way it's given face to face. I don't believe in hiding behind a fake online name and personality.

Really? I beg to differ. If there is some magical plan I'm missing out on, let me know. I'd gladly drop premium.

Listen, the last thing I have ever asked for is a comparison between the way I choose to do things with Roar and other sites. I love this place. This is the first message board I EVER posted on. I probably visit here more than I do my own site. I have met some really great people from this site and feel that I have a great relationship and a high level of respect for some that run this site. Derby especially. It's different flavors. Some like chocolate. Some like vanilla. Others like a good mix of it all (neapolitan).

Had I known Conan approved of UAB, I would have become a fan a long time ago, instead of just today.

The amendment thing was sarcasm. (I would hope most 'veteran' posters would know that I do that from time to time)

The 'Official Post Game Thread' was not.

I actually thought it might be. It's hard to tell in cyberspace sometimes.

Not a terrible move.

Supporting regardless seems cool.

Being critical seems cool.

Questioning some player and coaches' decisions seems all right.

Posting in a derisive and mocking- even hateful manner- about Memphis- on a Memphis board- should not be tolerated.

There is a difference...and the trolls know that.

Still seems odd to me and always will- why anyone who claims to be a fan of Memphis- an alum from Memphis- would not just be critical- but would mock their own- constantly...

I am guessing roar is where all the "opinion givers who think everyone else is an idiot" went?

Wrong as usual Mimi. It's where you can actually get good info from real fans that don't jump off a cliff during times of adversity.

Post number 16 there offers proof that you are wrong. 03-lol

I just want to thanks the mods for deleting the "wosburn" thread.

Thanks!
