RE: Kent State vs. Bowling Green
Kent State has earned a bye which means after Friday they will have six days off to get ready for whoever they play in the first round. Plus, the team should be able to sleep in their own bed on Wednesday regardless of what time they play on Thursday. I don't doubt that they are tired, but I do doubt that Rod Sherman, Justin Greene, Mike Porrini or Geno Ford are going to use that as an excuse should somebody beat them in the MAC tournament.
The weakness at the 4, sure it is true. But show me a MAC team without a glaring soft spot that is a major concern. The fact is that Kent State does have a few options (especially if Leonard is going to get some minutes) and is much better off at the four than when this was first brought up in December. Geno Ford has figured out the best way to play despite that weakness.
I don't know. Forget all the reasons "why not" and forget possible excuses. This team has come way too far for any of that. And if they lose in Cleveland it will be because they were outplayed.

I agree! There's plenty to like about our boys & I'm certainly not counting them out. They can win 3 in a row if they are playing at the top of their game & stay out of foul trouble. I see Buffalo, Miami, OU, Akron and Kent all about the same. The hot team (or the one in the best groove) next week is probably the one that wins the auto bid.

Flashesfan21 - Many reasons I see why Greene get so many shots blocked. Pretty much been the same all season:
1). At 6' 7" (no way he's 6' 8"), he's normally 2"-3" shorter than the man guarding him.
2). Most teams collapse 2-3 guys on him with at least one coming from behind that he can't see.
3). Greene seldom gives any head/shoulder/pump fakes making it easy to time his shots to block them.
KSU315 - If KSU plays tournament games like they played last night, I doubt they win even 1 of those games (let alone three).
And as Steve Mix noted last night, he has no lift. He would be a real force if he ever played above the rim, and he should really work on that.

Nobody in the MAC is good enough to win the three, or four, straight neded to win the tournament. Somebody has to, though. No team is without at least one weakness. I wouldn't be shocked if any one of about seven teams wins it all.
I note that Buffalo is anywhere from 8.5 to 9 point favorites tonight. I don't see Buffalo even winning that game, let alone cover. In fact, I see Miami winning both and being the #1 seed.

Miami certainly has a chance to win as I am sure they are going to be at the game in uniform and field their players. However, MU has been terrible on the road this year and UB has been tough at home and it is their senior night. Not sure if they cover or not, but I like the Bulls at home tonight.

It says something about the sorry status of the MAC that BG is opening a new facility that seats only 5,000.

Not really. That's double their current gym.

All is not lost. Buffalo 29, Miami 27 with 5 minutes to go in the 1st half.

Yeah, Buffalo was trailing 22-11 when I posted, but it looks like they woke up right after that.
