Foley's Gals
Almost a cinch now that the Lady Trojans will get their 4th consecutive 20 win season. That is a lot to brag about. Seems to me, if UALR supporters and sports fans here in Central Arkansas don't have anything else to be proud of, we should all be thankful for Coach Foley and Lady Trojan Basketball. I would bet that program is recognized around the basketball country as high class.

He's been to the finals, been to the NIT, and has been to and won a game in the NCAA's. How about Shields? How's he done in comparison?

Like I've said, its a crapshoot. Still, I would be willing to bet the house on MTSU or UALR winning on the women's side. I wouldn't bet the house if you let me pick 9 men's teams- ULM and FIU look pretty unlikely to win, although FIU may have the pure talent. Not sure who I would leave out after that.

Winning the SBC tourney is the only thing that matters.

Actually, being relevant is all that matters.

Remind me again how many teams have won the tourney the past 8 years?
You are barking up the wrong tree if you think Foley isn't getting it done. He's going to win his second straight Coach of the Year award and may well get his team to just it's second ever NCAA tournament. He has taken a program from the dregs to the top of the league. If your only concern is that he hasn't won the conference title, I would suggest you hold your criticism for 11 days as you may well have nothing on which to stand.

Stephen, he's joking. He's just "gigging" our posters who argue that "all that matters is winning the tourney" when talking about our men's team.
I think his point is simply that winning the tourney is not that easy.

If that was a joke, then I'm sorry I got "gigged." I obviously don't follow UALR men's hoops as I don't even follow MTSU's men's program.
BTW, can I PLEASE make a suggestion that folks somehow include WBB or some other identifier in thread titles so I can spot them more easily. I open nearly every thread to see if it's about the women. Very frustrating to keep opening threads devoted to the men. This thread on the other hand was easy to spot. :)

To be honest, most on here are foremost men's basketball fans. However, its been hard to not get caught up in the success our women have had under Coach Foley. I have a feeling you'll get more activity on the women's side, starting next week, as the women will certainly be going to postseason and its pretty safe to say the men won't.
