West Virginia-- 1998- present

1) 2005---Went 11-1/Sugar Bowl Champs/Lambert Trophy Winners

2) 1999-- Young team and Marc Bulger was hurt almost the entire year

3) 2001 Miami and its not close

4) Pat White-- the numerous school and conference records speak for themsleves

5)Pac Man Jones-- if one can put the off the field stuff aside for a moment he was a great corner and KR/PR plust a high first round pick

RE: Questions for each fanbase
1- Your school's best team since the BCS started in 1998
>> 2007 put USF on the map. It didn't end the way we hoped but it was one of the first glimpses of the promise this program has if it can put together a whole season. The 2010 season was also memorable, if not flashy, b/c of the resetting of expectations and direction Holtz is going to take USF Football.

2- Your school's worst since 1998
>> 2004 w/o a doubt. It's our only losing season since our first year of football. We had to deal with schedule changes, coaching defections before and after the season and there was an alleged players revolt that Leavitt had to squash. We lost to Army....enough said.

3- Best team your school played against
>>Oklahoma; I'll remember that game as a homecoming for our former Athletic Director Lee Roy Selmon than for OU's ranking. Plus we didn't exactly embarrass ourselves too much for the the first 30minutes of the game and played them tougher than some Big12 teams did that year.

4- Best player on offense for your school
>>Andre Hall. Tempted to go wtih Matt Grothe but #8 had some help on offense and had some pretty decent OL to play with as well. Andre Hall was our only real option on offense for two years. Everyone knew he was going to get the ball and he still put up big numbers. Grothe would be a close second, but his last two years were filled with too much hype and a lot of turnovers. Similarly, while not as one dimensional as during our Andre Hall days, as Grothe went so went USF.

5- Best player on D
>>J.R. Reed. He was one of the lone bright spot from that 2004 team. Instinctive, leader and made the most of his abilities. His career finale against Memphis is the stuff program legends are made of...Close second would be Nate Allen. That kid has been a smooth customer since his first summer camp at USF through his rookie season with the Eagles.

RE: Questions for each fanbase
Jackson, I thought about putting Pacman up for the defensive player. But IMO Neild was much more valuable to the Mountaineer D...

RE: Questions for each fanbase
1. 2007 for me, though 2005 is a close 2nd

2. 2001....3-8, scored a whopping 235 pts the whole season (80 of which were in one game!), and lost to some crappy team from Philadelphia at home in November on a cold, rainy day. Oh yeah, and we had to listen to that catchy "Spot the ball" voiceover all season 03-banghead

3. 2000, 2001, 2002 Miami....hard to pick...I'll go with 2002

4. Pat White

5. Grant Wiley

Harris was prior to the BCS era. After White, my second choice for WVUs best offensive player in this "era" would be Marc Bulger. He was a great QB and still holds a lot of school passing records. At the time, WVU just didn't have defense that could stop anyone so he didn't play on any great teams

1. 2001 12-1 Big East & Orange Bowl champs. #5 in final poll of the season.
2. 2009 Disaster 4-8
3. Beat #4 Florida St in 02..Best team loss at #2 Florida St in 2000
4. Chris Redman 12,541yds passing 84 tds played two BCS seasons in 98 and 99 under offensive c. Bobby Petrino. Redman had a total of 23 300yd passing games, 8 400yd passing games. In a game against ECU Redman passed for 592 yds & 6 tds. I did look these stats up :)
5. Lots to choose from...Elvis Dumervil. He held NCAA record 20 sacks in 2005 that included 6 in a game against Kentucky. As a two year starter he held an impressive 32 sacks and 42.5 tackles for loss. Talk about undersized, he had great speed, determination and was doing this stuff with 2 or 3 blockers on him after that Kentucky game.
