RE: UL vs UCF for Demarcus Smith
Did you miss the thread title?
Other than that, can you show me the rule that says only fans of a certain conference can post in their respective conference board on the NCAABBS domain?

I'm just saying you are taking this to far. We do not agree. Just enjoy your recruit. This has nothing to any longer with the Big East or Louisville.

RE: UL vs UCF for Demarcus Smith
I'm not taking anything too far. A claim was made that Smith chose UCF because of guaranteed playing time due to Godfrey switching positions - which was false and a mistake on the part of the Louisville reporter. Fans tried to use that as some type of coping method even though they were informed that was not the case.
I and others then present proof that Smith did indeed know what he was getting into, was not lied to, and just flat out liked UCF, and it gets dismissed/ignored due to illogical thinking.

RE: UL vs UCF for Demarcus Smith
Here's a link to learn about Bender , who is advising D. Smith.
Bender Link
Read what pocoCard wrote and its true.
Quote:When Bender was a sophomore in high school, he told everyone he was going to be the first high school junior to jump straight to the NBA. He went on through his junior year, and of course, that didn't happen.
Pitino, not knowing what a headcase he was, gave him a charity scholarship because the roster at UL was so lean. Bender couldn't cut it at the college level, so he quit and told everyone he was going to the NBA. He was not even drafted.
When Bender failed to make an NBA squad or even a decent European or South American league, he went to Iran - that's right, IRAN - where he quickly washed out there, too.
He came back to Louisville with no skills and no prospects for a respectable life. Now he passes his time trying to weasel in and leach off of young recruits in the hope of scoring some personal gain. In between all that, he lies about his connections that don't exist. He lies about friends he does not have. He lies about an NBA career that never existed. He lies about anything to anyone in the hopes that he will be perceived as being something, a somebody. The fact is, Bender pretty much is a waste of human flesh with serious psychological problems. The fact is he is an irrelevant bug.
That's the truth about Bender.

You see why D, Smith decision is tainted.

Both of you need to give it a break. The kid chose UCF. UofL fans don't like the way it happened. Let's leave it at that...

RE: UL vs UCF for Demarcus Smith
This Bender dude has no connection to UCF. All of Smith's statements, composure, demeanor, etc. has been one of someone who is very smart and well-spoken. You have zero actual proof Smith was influenced by this dude. Even in that same thread you linked to, Louisville fans were stating Smith was only 9-10 when whatever incidents occurred.
Hard to believe that someone who was dead-set on UL their entire lives would be swayed by some random dude. I guess some people can't cope with the fact that UCF is a damn good school with nice facilities and great support and it takes a personal tour to really see everything since that established tradition isn't there. But you can continue to cling to whatever delusions you can think of to deal with the fact that a recruit decided not to go to your school.
You don't see UCF fans up in arms when a previous commits decided to go to USF or other recruits that we really wanted decided to go to Louisville or other places this class.
Edit: And yeah, even though I've kept this completely civil, I'm done.

I thought about this and wondered if I was talking out of my arse. So I did a rivals breakdown of the Big East offered recruits we signed. I think I can see why some programs should be working against UCF's expansion.
10 offers: USF
3 offers: UL, WVU
2 offers: UC, Cuse, Rutgers, Uconn
1 offer: Pitt

Let me give you a little advice there, dont trust Rivals for that info. There are many times that the kid is offered by more schools and is not listed. There are other times when a kid says that they been offered and is not true. For example USF had room in this class for about 20-21 kids, yet they offered a lot more. Some where players they really wanted like Elkino Watson that signed and Rayshawn Scott that chose UM, others were back up plans in case the first line guys did not sign. For example there were two three star players a TE and a LB that had USF listed as offers, came to visit, wanted to commit and were told to hold off and wait, they chose to go elsewhere.
So while you can say that schools might be recruiting simialr guys, you really dont know exactly how much head to head competition is going on.
and relax recruiting will NOT determine if UCF gets the invite or not
