Like Wilkie said we could use more exposure in Texas and what makes people think we need more exposure in Florida? USF was never meant to replace Miami they were invited to help us maintain a presence in Florida while possibly adding a program they could groom into a Top 25 football program now that they would have access to Florida as a BCS program.

FLA is the #1 out-of-state recruiting territory for most of the current Big East teams and any extra/new exposure in the state will most certainly help them.

Yes, the decision on the future constituents of the BE will be decided by Presidents, Chancellors, consultants, etc... As much as it pains many on this and other message boards, our input has no bearing whatsoever on the eventual outcome.

USF has one thing on UCF right now; BCS AQ status. Granted, it's a really big thing, but spare me the "high brow" talk. If you want to stick your tongue out and yell "na-na-na-na-naaa, we're in a BCS conference", I got nothing, you're right. Granted, I haven't read every post in this thread, but anyone who doesn't understand why USF wouldn't want UCF in an (much less the same) AQ conference as them is simply not using their common sense.....proximity and competition in recruiting alone would tell anyone that......if the shoe were on the other foot, UCF would be doing anything and everything it could to keep USF out......

It also wouldn't surprise me if the other Florida AQ school weren't lobbying behind closed doors to keep UCF out as well......

I hope you are not refering to me with that last comment. Obviously the BCS tag is huge for USF, but here is the think about some UCF fans that I always found interesting. They love to brag about the accomplishments that UCF has obtained, while at the same time dissmiss anything USF has accomplished as being lucky and having a BCS bid.

Your comment above about "they had their choice 7 years ago"? Yup, sure did. Seven years ago. Things change. Remember; they offered us football-only and we turned it down. We are light years beyond where we were then. Like I said in my post, if we were both candidates, TODAY, it's a different outcome.

You mentioned fans. We outdraw you in both football and hoops. We out recruit you in both.

Capital Pirate mentioned something about not understanding why we don't get why USF doesn't want UCF in the B.E. we fully get it, and yeah, you're right. If the shoe were on the other foot, we'd not want them in either.

Again, my post isn't about comparing candidates, debating validity of who should get an invite, or anything like that. I've just simply had enough of select people from the USF camp talking/presenting themselves like they're Notre Dame or USC.

I don't want my alma mater and favorite school to be associated with UCF in any way other than that we are both schools in florida. I want nothing to do with them. In the few months I've been on this board, i've gone out of my way to avoid name-calling, avoiding taking the bait from people like you. I've been respectful of both expansion candidates and Big East members alike. you, however, are an exception; gotta say, you're an f'ing moron.

Your whole "high and mighty" vibe is obnoxious. You chirp like USF has actually done something; what? You guys have had a few really good starts only to fade miserably as the season goes on. You did nothing, on the field, to "earn" your spot that you were given in the Big East. USF got the spot over UCF because UCF was lacking in facilities and you were ahead of us in that regard.

Let's fast forward to today; if both schools were expansion candidates today, UCF gets the nod and it's not even close.

You talk "down" to us as if you're coming from some perch atop the mountain of college sports; Really? Even though you've had the "BCS" label to lean on for several years now, we are out-recruiting you for the second consecutive season in both football and hoops. Our Basketball team, while admittedly struggling right now, beat USF, again, earlier this season.

We may or may not get the invite to the Big East; we certainly hope to and, yeah, we absolutely feel like we bring good things to the table, both now and in the future. I love how certain USF fans preach about "earning" our spot in an AQ conference; what in the hell had you guys done to "earn" your spot when you got in? Not a damn thing. Right place, right time, period.


You "want nothing to do with us" on the field or on the court; newsflash, ace; UF, FSU, and UM have ZERO interest in being your rivals. You've got a ready made rivalry, two huge fan bases that hate each other, and you're too stupid to see what it can be for BOTH schools.

We want in and would be honored to get the invite, but, at the end of the day, B.E. or no B.E., we'll continue to grow and thrive. If it's not the B.E. now, it'll be some future incarnation of the Big 12, ACC, etc... It's a matter of time. We've waited this long to get to a point where we are truly a legit AQ conference candidate; if it doesn't happen now, it'll happen sooner than later.

Sorry for the rant; I'm not one who "trolls" or "stirs things up". I know we have some fans that tend to be a bit boisterous, but, in regards to this "high-brow" crap coming from this USF fan, enough is enough.

Relax, many of us feel the same about a few UCF fans. At the end of the day the decision will not be dictated by anyone on this board or on how many threads are posted about an expansion candidate.

Yes, we have some "zealots" on our side of the table that many of us wish would exercise their right to shutup once in awhile.

Yes, the decision on the future constituents of the BE will be decided by Presidents, Chancellors, consultants, etc... As much as it pains many on this and other message boards, our input has no bearing whatsoever on the eventual outcome.

USF has one thing on UCF right now; BCS AQ status. Granted, it's a really big thing, but spare me the "high brow" talk. If you want to stick your tongue out and yell "na-na-na-na-naaa, we're in a BCS conference", I got nothing, you're right. Just don't come at with this fictional air of superiority because it's just not there.

I hope you are not refering to me with that last comment. Obviously the BCS tag is huge for USF, but here is the think about some UCF fans that I always found interesting. They love to brag about the accomplishments that UCF has obtained, while at the same time dissmiss anything USF has accomplished as being lucky and having a BCS bid.

You dont outrecruit us in anything. I think youre new to this whole college sports thing. The only reason your class is rated higher than ours in football right now is because you have 11 more players commited. By wednesday it will even itself out. Prior to this year we have always been ahead of you in recruiting rankings, this year you are barely ahead of us after your best season in school history, yet find that as evidence enough to say that you outrecruit us.
