History Repeats Itself
....and expecting different results from the same stuff is insanity.

From lance's blog....

Stretch run
UC record: 18-4/Big East: 5-4
9 games remaining: 4 road/5home.
UC must go 5-4 the rest of the way to have a winning Big East record (10-8). That would make UC 23-8 heading into the Big East tournament.
RPI....record...opponent
7........(20-2) @ Pittsburgh
237... (6-14) @ DePaul
28... .(11-8) St. John's
24.... (17-4) Louisville
90.... (13-8) @ Providence
6...... (16-5) @ Georgetown
5...... (17-3) Connecticut
58.....(14-8) @ Marquette
6...... (16-5) Georgetown
Keep in mind....UC under Mick is 12-39 on the road and 6-25 vs Top 25 teams.

UC has collapsed down the stretch in each of the last three years:

2007-2008
UC stood 13-12 after a February 20 win over South Florida.
UC then lost seven straight games to end the season..including a loss to Pitt in the first round of the Big East tournament and a loss to Bradley in the first round of the CBI.
UC finished the season 13-19
2008-2009
UC stood 17-8 after a February 11 win over St John's
UC then to lost 6 of their next 7...including a loss at South Florida, a home loss to Seton Hall and a first round Big East tournament loss to DePaul (DePaul had been winless in conference play).
UC finished the season 18-14
2009-2010
UC stood 14-7 after a January 30 win over Providence
UC then lost 7 of their next 9 heading into the Big East tournament.
UC finished the season 19-16

****

So here we go....

@ Pitt....anyone think UC has a chance? L
@ Depaul....no gimmes with this team especially on road, but let's give them a W
Louisville....Probably a L
St. John's....stole one on road they should have lost. Probably best chance along with depaul. W
@ Gtown....gtown is hot and a top 20 team. L
Uconn....uconn tends to play best on road and kembawalker lights up cats. L
@ Providence....some think this is a win. I don't. L
@ Marquette...yeah right. L
Gtown. 0-2. L

I see a very micklike finish in feb and march. Finish 7-11 in big east. 19-15 overall. Buy your NIT tickets at gobearcats.com.

Good riddance to bishop and thomas. Hopefully good riddance to cronin. But I'm sure we are stuck with Mickey the clown. Guesses on next years attendance?

Hopefully, it won't, but the scenario painted looks entirely believable.

RE: History Repeats Itself
I'll be doing a dance if they beat @Pitt.

I'd like to see them sweep @Depaul, UL, SJ.

At least they would have some momentum for the final 5. Who knows?
