UCF being 1-6 in conference isn't even a blip on a screen of expansion qualifications.
A schools record in one season is not goin to qualify or disqualify them for a potential lifetime in a conference.
This will be decided on candidate value in relation to $ generated by TV, and future TV and bowl $ projections. With a minor look at potential scheduling issues.
If an addition of a school and it's market increases the total $ per school now and potentially in the future it will happen. Plain and simple.
There is a law of diminishing returns the more teams you add. Every team past 10 has to bring an even larger share to meet the additional split. Anyhing past 12 almost HAS to be a top 15 program and Market, to make it work in the current state of conferences. The only way to financially justify going past 12 is to reduce the number of conferences acrosss the board by adding teams to each. Then the networks can split the money over fewer conferences, but more teams.

I agree with this. However, I'm curious why you say top 15 market? I'm sure it's just coincidence that Houston falls within this number, and little ole Orlando falls JUST outside at 19. Yeah, coincidence. That's gotta be it. LOL

Honestly I did not even think about it like that. I believe if the BE goes to 12 UCF and UH will be in. The Top 15 statement was meant to be if the conference were to go past 12.

I've always had the "12 team" idea, way in the back of my head. It just seems like Villanova will make the jump. I have no opinion of that, but I can understand why the BEast would want to pull another basketball school over to football, without having to divide the pie into smaller slices. But hey, if they went 12 teams, that'd be great. I just don't want get my hopes up.
