This should be a great thing for the atmosphere at Lawson.

However, the band director needs to make an effort to work within the existing student cheers while at the same time the students need to give the band a chance.

Students aren't I can say right now jumping into the excitement because it will take some of the cheers. But if let's say we did the songs without the words it would be awesome if everyone learned all the words to living on a prayer and we didn't depend on the sound system at all. If the band pushes out dinosaur or that the students will complain and want it out. Honestly the sound system is so bad at Lawson that if the students can sing and the band can get things going between plays it would add to it. Take away from students traditional songs it will end miserably.

They already have been pushing the dinosaur out, there have been many games this season when they haven't even played it. and in the four years since i have been going to games in the student section, it is no more than 10 people even doing the dance. has it always been that way?

Update from the news coming from a member of the new pep band. The band will be in the area behind the net that WMU shoots towards 2x a game in the seats that are already empty even in sold out games. Won't be as big as the basketball one currently but a smaller arena and don't want to take away seats but it will be a wait and see.
