The new guy is a gigantic center and a de-commit from Ball State.

Looks like we weren't on his radar...but Wisconsin was.

We need a center. Wedige is a Junior? One year red shirt than 4 year starter.

Maybe, maybe not. Jared Volk is the number 2 center on the depth chart right now, so he may get the first crack at starting when Wedige leaves after next year.

Very good pickup. Michael Gegner who will be a RS FR was a high school center. It's always good to have OL with center experience for emergencies though.

I do like the size....would have to imagine he's pretty raw or has some things to learn with that size or there'd be more programs interested.

That's true, but when you think about it, there's not a ton of D-1 schools around there, considering how big of metro areas they have in St.Louis and KC.

Looks like MAC schools may be starting to pick apart at BSU's recruits. Toledo also gained DE Collin Perchinske who was a prior BSU verbal.

Coach Novak used to look for guys like this on the O line that had size, character and potential. He used to tell them that you can turn yourself into a good Offensive lineman if you are willing to put in the work in practice and in the weight room. We had some pretty solid O lines during his tenure as HC. If you find the right guys and red shirt them, they can be as good as what the BCS schools take, they are just not ready to play their first year.
