RE: moving on up?
This is going to happen soon.

There is a movement both on campus and among influential alumni for our do-nothing, worthless AD and our athletically disinterested President to declare our intention to move up to FBS (formerly I-A). The Associated Student Government has voted to support a move to I-A every year since 1997, and has also vowed to approve the necessary student fee increase and scholarship increase.

There is also business support, with one business in San Marcos pledging $6,000,000 - $8,000,000 for football stadium naming rights if we move to I-A, and there is a plethora of monetary support among Texas State alumni such as myself that want to see Texas State become the University we know it can be.

Check out: http://www.d1june1.com

However, they did not sign the necessary paperwork by the June 1 deadline. Our only option now is to wait until after the 2007 season.

Oh, and please change our moniker from Southwest Texas State to Texas State.

Thanks!
