Mini plan = what seats
I should have enough money and time this year to get the Mini Plan. So I am curious what seats on the west side could I expect?

Mini Plan? Is that something Kill introduced with Minnesota in mind? Time to fork over the big bucks son, and buy season tickets. I'm wondering where the seats will be at our home away from home (Soldier Field).

Well, they won't be the bench back seats I do know that. :) When I bought our season tix, I called athletics directly and asked for tickets directly across from the band - which is about the 30 yd. line. (I did this because my son was in the band at the time, and I liked watching the band's antics) You could call athletics and ask them about the mini plan seats.

I don't recall how much the mini-plan costs. Is it that much of a price difference that you can't just buy season tickets? I think - won't swear to it - that the mini plan was only like $20 or so less than season tickets. And I'm not even sure you get to choose which games you want to attend. So what's $20 or $25 more? If you start a "change jar" at home you'd have that money saved up in no time. You and your wife (I think you said you have a wife) just put all of your loose change in the change jar every day. In no time you have quite a bit of money in it. There's your extra $$ to go with buying season tix!

RE: Mini plan = what seats
The last few years I've purchased season and mini tickets for many people. The mini tickets are pretty much where the later season ticket holders sit so they're basically the same. Depending on how many you want together and when you get them, they'll probably be in the middle third section up anywhere within the 20-50 yard lines. There's really no bad seat in that range in such a small stadium.

As for which tickets, I'm sure it's no different than in the past and you'll be able to pick any 3 games you want (in DeKalb).

I am not looking for bench back seats as I didn't like the older crowd (that liked to sit down most of the time). The money is really not a problem it is more of a time thing. I have 3 kids at the age of 2 and under and it is hard enough for me to commit to more than 2 weekends. If there are more week night games then I can attend those much easier.

Yea I understand the time thing. My kids used to be little....not so much now as my eldest is 29 and my twins are 26. I remember very well how hectic life is when they're very young. Enjoy them.......you will blink a couple of times and then be moving them on to college before you know it.
The mini plan probably is best for you right now.

I've got to tell you I've had tickets since 2004 and my kids have been to pretty much every game, started when they were very young. My neighbor season ticket holders have been awesome with the kids and we all look forward to seeing them every year in September.....Ask for section C around the 20th row, the people in this area are some of the best fans and best people on the west side.

Bests seats in the house are no seats at all. Go east side!

I agree for myself but not with kids or older people that like to sit.

Call Athletics, but usually the Spring Game is when Season Ticket holders have the option of changing around. The Spring Game allows you to figure out where the best view is since the Stadium Diagram doesn't give you much.

I can tell you that the other thing to keep in mind is the weather. You are going to want as much of the press box protecting you from that wicked DeKalb wind come mid October on.

We have quite a few younger families in our section last year and everyone seemed to get along well.

(btw, I agree niuguy, East Side tickets are the best, until you have kids or your tolerance for drunken college kids showing up midway through the first quarter and leaving at halftime begins to wain.)
