Sun Belt Basketball Attendance Report (1/19/11)
These numbers are up to date through the ASU/Lamar game on Monday night. Western Kentucky is still in the overall lead, and still has the most highly attended game of the year (Louisville). Denver, with their 6200+ crowd for FIU has taken over the top spot for the most highly attended SBC conference game. North Texas is pushing MTSU for second place, averaging just under 200 fans less per game. Denver is also on the rise, looking like they may have a shot at the top 3 in attendance if they continue to be successful. FAU is still in last place.

The Winter Holiday numbers are FINAL. Western Kentucky wins that category. MTSU came close as the WKU attendances have declined significantly recently, but WKU held on. FAU once again came in last place.

ASU and UALR are leading in the SBC home attendance with North Texas just 400 or so behind. The shocker here is that WKU is all the way down in 5th place. AND...in the most unshocking piece of data, FIU leads SBC away game attendance. Apparently people enjoy yelling things at Isaiah Thomas.

RE: Sun Belt Basketball Attendance Report (1/19/11)
I was at the Denver game, and while 6,200+ tickets might have been sold and/or 'distributed" as the 'announced crowd', there were about 4,000-5,000 actual fans in the building for the game. I believe it was part of a family promotion, but it was pretty cool to have double the usual crowd for a DU hoops game. I hope that can continue, as it makes a huge difference in game atmosphere.

You can see pictures of the crowd here (Magness Arena seats 7,200 for hoops):

Yet also in FIRST PLACE! 03-thumbsup

I think that we are plying really well, and we have some home games coming up with the ESPN 2 game Saturday and school is back in session, we should start to get more people out.

GO OWLS!!!

Expect the WKU attendance to keep plunging. Not much faith in the fandom right now.

Great news for South Alabama in Saturday night's game against the FIU Golden Panthers. South won 86-78 before the season's largest crowd at The Mitch this year, 5,431 fans.

Yep. It sure did. Doesn't discount the turnout for a four win team.

Kind of confused as to why a program with 30,000 students and a team in first place can't put more butts in the seat then 3275 per game?

I do not know who came up with USA's home attendance figures, but the aren't correct according to http://www.usajaguars.com's game-by-game boxscores for 10 home games. The correct average home attendance average is 2430.

The figure in the first post was calculated on the 19th, so it doesn't include the WKU or FIU games.

Alrighty then. Anyhow, average home attendance against 4 SBC opponents is 2900 as of Sat., Jan. 22.
