Until Lynch proves he can throw, I would hope Grady is the back up QB.

Is Weston still on the team?

Also, interested to see Frank the Tank play, he's on track from what we've heard, correct?

I dont think we can afford to have Lynch as our backup QB. He needs to play a different position. That guy has too much speed, too much strength to not utilize him.

RE: Spring ball mysteries
MD, that's just stupid. If the kid can throw even somewhat decently, why in the world wouldn't we want him to play QB?

We have plenty of WR's quicker than he is, and running backs better at running than he is. I'm not taking my big play QB and turning him into a tight end or fullback. He's a very good runner for a QB, but he's not going to be a better RB than any of the three RBs. He surely won't be ahead of any of the WR's.

I think Lynch should be used the exact same way he was this year, giving Chandler a breather, hopefully incorporating more passing plays (and better than the ones in the MACC) into the Lynch set.

You realize Lynch will likely be our starting QB in 2012 and 2013 right?

This was the first year that Harnish was basically injury free. Hopefully, this will continue. Many schools go to their second or third string QB because of injuries. Can never have too many QBs especially if you run the spread. They can take a beating

With the other 2 young guys transferring out isn't Lynch the only QB on the team now that will be on the team in 2012?

And certainly subbing Lynch in like we did this year can't hurt Harnish staying healthy

Agreed, if and only if you allow him to have access to the full play book. He rarely got a chance to throw the ball last year and he failed to throw a good pass when we really needed him. Unless Kill & Co were covering up for a known weakness you have to give your back-up meaningful experience in real game situations. Meaningful experience for a QB means throwing the football.

I'm wondering how we will use Akeem Daniels?

I'm excited to see the position battle at RB

@ 5 7" I think he'd prob be best as a slot receiver and a situational back. Just my thoughts

I know A.J. Hill transferred out but who else left? I'm assuming Weston got a redshirt so he would be a RS Junior next year and RS Senior in 2012. Maybe he left though...who knows.

Uh-oh...

I was thinking that Until Grady proves he can throw, I would hope Lynch is still the back up QB.

RE: Spring ball mysteries
The major thing I want to see is what the offense/defense philosophys are. What we're doing with the defensive backfield would probably be second to that. The RB situation will take care of itself. Too much talent back there and too good of an offensive line to be worried about it. I honestly think you'll see all three guys back there.

Other than that, the backup QB situation will be interesting. I honestly don't trust either Lynch or Grady enough to win games for us throwing the ball.
