RE: Conference Bowl Standings
With Tennessee's loss to North Carolina in the Music City Bowl, the Sun Belt now stands with the Big Ten Conference as the only unbeated conferences in the bowl season. Should even one Big Ten school lose its bowl, a Middle Tennessee State win in the GoDaddy.com Bowl will secure the Bowl Challenge Cup for the Sun Belt Conference.

They'd probably changed the rules to a 4 bowl minimum.

Current Rules:

In order to qualify to win the trophy, a conference has to have the highest winning percentage with a minimum of three teams from that conference. The Sun Belt Conference has only two guaranteed bowl slots, the New Orleans Bowl and the GMAC Bowl and holds contingency picks with the St. Petersburg, Little Caesars Pizza Bowl, BBVA Compass and Independence Bowls, thus needs one other conference to be unable to fulfill their bowl obligations in order to qualify for the Cup.

RE: Conference Bowl Standings
Since it's inception in 2002, the MWC has won the most Bowl Challenge Cups with 3 and is the only conference to have won it outright more than once.

Ya think losing 4 games in one day will hurt the Big TEN in the standings?

My bad - they lost FIVE games today. SIX if you count Nebraska as their incoming member. I know the Big East counted wins by incoming members last time they expanded.

Quote from the Bowl Standings site: "Either the Sun Belt or Mountain West will win the Bowl Challenge Cup, depending on whether Middle Tennessee State can beat Miami(OH) in the GoDaddy.com bowl."

The Sun Belt Conference is going to win it. Middle Tennessee State is going to find a way to beat Miami University of Ohio. Book it.

What are your keys to the game?

They are bigger on the line for sure. We haven't done a good job of stopping the run to say the least. I hope we can jam the middle and let our DB's handle things behind the LB's. We will do well to win this game or even hang with them.

MTSU must contain Austin Boucher (3-0 as a starter) who took over for Zach Dysert who suffered a lacerated spleen against Bowling Green.

MTSU has speed that Miami University hasn't seen much of this season. It's not a surprise that MAC schools struggle to beat Sun Belt schools in the same way Big Ten schools struggle to beat schools from the $EC. The Midwest is about size, while the South is about speed.

If MTSU can penetrate Miami's O-Line and put pressure on Boucher, that will be a plus for them.

Middle Tennessee State also needs to establish the ground game. Miami has a good rushing defense, and MTSU will have to get creative to beat the size of Miami's line, but when teams are able to run the ball, that's when the Redhawks get in serious trouble.

MTSU throws as many picks as Ohio, but Ohio still beat Miami. Alot of that has to do with running the ball more than throwing. Miami can't take advantage of their defensive secondary if it's not really in use.

MTSU must prevent turnovers. They can't be the Turnover Happy bunch they've been most of the season. Miami practically lives and dies off of turnovers. Without turnovers to feed them, they will struggle.

MTSU needs a break-out game from Dwight Dasher. It would go a long way in securing the win for the Sun Belt Conference.
