Sounded like a mis-match. We needed that for our confidence going into Texas.

Just like Ole Miss (SEC) has better players than us, we more often than not will have better players than A-Sun (former TAAC) teams. It showed tonight. Maybe our coaching wasn't so bad either.

Mouzy shot 30% from the field but ran down 4 rebounds in 23 minutes. This was probably a game taylor made for him.

Looks like Bails was productive in his minutes.

Solo had 7 assists with 4 turnovers in 28 minutes 16 points.

Chucky had a good night too.

I feel better about this team than I did 2 days ago. How about you?

I think in conference Bails and Mouzy will be able to influence the game a little more. We are going to press to force the pace. The bigs aren't going to be out classed like we have seen in some games so far.

I thought the minutes the four guards played was the fairest distribution of minutes I've seen. The proves that it's possible for all four to play 20-25 minutes if they work it right. If the keep this rotation, I think we'll be a better team. All four of the kids play well and have certain strengths, and it will help all get into a rhythm in their shooting. Had to be our best road performance of the year, even though it's on a neutral court.
I was sorry to see Matt and Chucky miss some shots down the stretch, but they were good shots that just didn't go in. If they both get enough minutes, they'll make some of those shots.04-cheers

Yes, folks will get there chance to complain again. We aren't going to win the rest of our games. Even if we win 20 plus games, we will still have double figure losses. I was not happy with our performance against Akron, but I thought it was a little early to throw in the towel for the season.

Like I've said ad infinitum, Steve will find the right times to play Matt to take advantage of his strengths and hiding his weaknesses. You can be sure he will get minutes when we face a zone. He will average 15-20 minutes over the course of the season. Sometimes he will play a little less sometimes a little more. It depends entirely on the matchups. Matt will continue to contribute to this team.

That sums it up for me. But I am hopeful. There is some talent on this team, but we need some work from the neck up.

Looking at the stats
Courtney's best game of the year?

That is our starting line-up. Shields needs to stick with it.

Alex is heating up. Over the last 4 games he is 7 of 13 from the arc.

What is up with Marlo? He has just disappeared.

Not sure what happened to Marlo. No doubt the coaching staff had him and Bails penciled in at the 5. Gus was next in line earlier in the season. Lucky they don't use ink. Montrelle has stepped up and earned the 5 spot, at least, for now. Just shows the coaches reward hard work in practice and effort on the court.

Yes, Alex is starting to look like the Alex I remember from last year. Played really well last night until he got into foul trouble which limited his minutes.

Alex has a guaranteed spot in the Mexican professional league. I understand any D1 player from Mexico is an automatic qualifier. That's what he intends to do, as least for a time, after he graduates.04-cheers

Glad to hear it. He is one of those players that it is easy to root for. I still think the PA announcer should say, "El Fueeeeeeeeeerte" whenever he hits a three. (Don't let Ray Tucker do it. He can't pronounce it.)

i.e Matt played more.

I don't care about fairness. I want the right players to be in there. Life is unfair. That's why I could never play the game.
