Jacksonville (currently of the 5-3 record and 317 strength of schedule rank (only Campbell is currently lower, at 327)) - yes Jacksonville - is your projected A-Sun rep, currently sporting at 15 seed.

In a down year for the SoCon, Wofford is projected as a 13 seed.

but....but....don't they know that the a-sun is better than the Socon now? There was a press release just this week that proves it.

Of course at this point in the year bracketology is virtually pointless, but it's just another example of how perception is everything and the a-sun is perceived to be < than the Socon.

When all is said and done the SoCon will get a higher seed than the a-sun.

Looks like #2 Syracuse would be their match.

I for one, hope we never see Syracuse again.

While Jacksonville has played well so far I really don't see how they pick them right now. Belmont is tearing it up so far this year. I think they have a real shot to beat UT when they play in a few days, especially considering the way UT has been playing lately.

I also think the Socon gets a better seed, however I could see Belmont getting a higher seed if they keep playing the way they are and make the tournament.

Would be interesting to see what seeds would have been if Charleston and Belmont were the projected conference champs. They seem to be playing the best out of the SoCon/Asun right now.

I wouldn't really read too much into that Troy win. I'm just glad that Belmont are crushing all of their mid-major opposition thus far.

It all doesn't matter now. It's very clear that the national champion will come from Northeastern, Southern Miss, or Ole Miss, with an outside chance SC-Upstate or C of C will sneak in with an upset in the national semifinals. Our S of S should be #1 in the country with all these strong teams we're playing.

Although I am a believer in not bothering much with bracketology at this stage of the season, this article makes some interesting points about at least 3 of our opponents, including Ole Miss, Miss. St., and Dayton, and their loss to ETSU is mentioned in the Dayton assessment.
Also mentioned is UT's narrow win over Belmont, and Florida's loss to Jacksonville....

early assessment due to OOC games

Any exposure is...exposure, I guess. Truth or not, it's hardly flattering to be the 'bad loss'.
