Are there worse free throw shooters than...
Courtney and Bails. Oh ya, I forgot about Burton.

Man, we look bad. These guys are not world beaters. WE should not get beat by 15 points by this team.

Maybe we should just forfeit all our road games. It would be less painful and embarrassing.

RE: Official Rice Game Thread
The sad truth of this one we were never in this game after the starters were taken out at the 10 minute mark. I don't know who's fault that is? The Kids? The coaching? Just dumb luck? But I expect to be in these road games against teams that don't have any more talent than we do. Rice has one kid that would be an all SBC player and that is it. You ahve to be somewhere around 5 to 7 points not getting beat like this.

They are just driving around our kids and dunking. Hell you would think we were playing Memphis.

I had to give up being pissed several years ago. Life's too short to get wound up about this program. It's getting pretty close to not being worth it.

I want you all to be pissed. Everyone of the loyal fans here should be pissed. Not pissed because we go on the road and get beat but pissed because we have nothing in the half court. Pissed because we can't even make this a game. This is not Memphis or Ole Miss. The large losses to teams that are no better than our conference mates.

I AM PISSED AND I DEMAND A TEAM THAT CAN PRODUCE A LOOK IN THE HALF COURT SET. I DON'T CARE IF YOU MAKE IT JUST PRODUCE A LOOK AT THE RIM IN POSITION TO SCORE!

Rice is a lot better than we are. They had good ball movement, shot fairly well from the perimeter after a slow start. Smart. Got a couple of good bigs. Bigs run the floor well. Shot free throws pretty good. Played good defense. Blocked shots. What else do you need? I thought they were better than Tulsa.

I don't blame anyone for this loss tonight. We didn't play all that badly. We didn't have a lot of turnovers. The only reason we were in the game the first ten minutes was because we were unusually hot. We just got our ass beat by a better team. We had good ball movement at the begining of the game, probably why we started off like a house on fire. We just got beat by a better team tonight.

And we can't say that the refs beat us.

Can't disagree with anything you said. They are more talented and are well coached. We only had 7 turnovers. We didn't play sloppy. Once they clamped down on us defensively it was over. I was particularly worried by the fact that they played Texas within 3 at Austin. We couldn't play them within 30.

We took care of the ball. Rebounded pretty well against a much taller team. We just had no answer inside, either offensively or defensively.

You can tell when things aren't going well listening to Ray Tucker just by the tone of his voice.

The reality is, when we play teams from higher rated conferences, they are likely to be more talented than us. That's how recruiting works. Kids usually sign with a school from a higher rated conference. We looked better coached against SMU and Tulsa from ConUSA. Tulsa clearly had more talent than us; not sure about SMU. Ben Braun is a BCS level coach who coached at Cal for many years. Yes, he was the better coach last night.

If you're talking about Rice, I think they probably would. Lost by 3 at NT, who won the league last year and is favored to do so again. Rice would certainly beat them in Houston. On a neutral court, who knows.
