To be fair, I think Houston's three Final Fours in the 80's are on more people's minds than the title won under the name of Texas Western 45 years ago.

It was, until Glory Road came out in 2006.

How I missed this I don't know. We'll at least you have a new UCF pissing contest to follow. Maybe now the heat on ECU fans for starting them will be shifted towards another more deserving fanbase? 05-stirthepot

I would love for this crap to stop but I can't in good conscience let false and derogatory statements go unchallenged. When people make a legitimate argument (even to the detriment of Houston) I can appreciate said point of view.

Pure vitriol is the crap being thrown around here. If you have noticed I am not flaming another school just defending false statements made of my university.

adcorbett, if Houston didn't make any Final Fours with Clyde the Glide and Akeem the Dream, I'd have been amazed. But that's a quarter century ago, which is equivalent to a generation...

Excuse me?

You went OFF on me because I made a joke about a homeless guy living in your arena. You could of just let it go as a joke (which it was).

Instead you yelled FOUL...so somebody provided you with a story where your HEAD COACH told the reporter "Over the years, he recalls having to kick out several homeless people who were living in the arena" and you called the coach a LIAR.

But it gets better!

And you could have done the same. He said those comments on the way out the door. Have you been to our arena? Is it state of the art no. Is it a pure trash heap no. I stand corrected on the quote but stand by the timing. He was on the way out and it was parting shot.

And when did I take the low road? The comment above is just my take because that is the attitude I see from your posters. Not a refection of the school as a whole.

Sadly, most of your virtriol was because the NY Times wrote a feature piece on UH Basketball back in March...and used comments/quotes from UH's own AD, Head Coach and star basketball player...yet you didn't complain directly to the NYTimes...instead, you complained/whined to those that linked/quoted said article.

Actually, that's not flaming UCF. It's a flame against their fans flaming UH. 03-wink

You are correct 03-wink.

Of course making a joke and flaming are two different things. I went with the first of those IMO. 04-cheers

Houston v. UCF pissing match?!?

Who cares. Nobody in either city cares about either program. This is like watching two retarded midgets in a steel cage match.

The BE would get more bang for the buck if they invited ECU, however, they have only done 1 thing that has made sense in the last few years and that was invite TCU(which technically makes zero sense geographically)so I doubt they're going to do anything that makes sense this go around anyway.

I've said it before, and I'll say it again. All of you ECU, UCF, & Houston fans are wasting your time. The BE is going global baby. University of Phoenix online.....BIG EAST FOOTBALL 2010. You heard it here first!

No problem Coog. Here is the statement that 20 or so Houston area politicians sent out trying to get you included in the Big 12 during this past summers realignment talks.

http://msn.foxsports.com/collegefootball...-12-061710

Nevermind that UH adds nothing to the Big 12. UH doesn't expand our footprint and the Houston TV market is already covered by UT & A&M and to a lesser extent Tx Tech & Baylor.

As far as support goes, just look at your attendance numbers for the last 30 years.

2009 25,242 23,867 exc 32K for Tx Tech
C-USA 19,527 18,693

Based on those numbers, it is quite apparent that unless a Big Boy comes to town, the City of Houston, Alumni and Students simply do not support UH with the exception of a few hard core fans.

Please don't bring the 2010 attendance into this discussion because 2010 is the 1st time you have averaged over 30K without the help of UT or A&M since 1980.

Is that enough proof?
