Inflated ego? no. You guys have a good program but I used attendance numbers to show that ISU and BU would draw more than UH. Nice attacks on Briles.

Quote:We averaged 32,000 in a very down year and without a "name" opponent with the possible exception of Mississippi State at home. That is 32,000 Houston fans in a bad year watching us not the opposition.
So far this is accurate and congrats on having a stronger showing.

Quote: Add your "2o min away" fans and we EASILY average over 40,000. Get us in an AQ and we EASILY average 40,000.
This is not. You assume a larger impact.
You averaged 32k in 6 home games. 2 of those are non-con with MSU and TSU that would likely be on the schedule still. I substituted 43k for 2 games against UT & A&M (higher than your SWC avg vs them) boosting the other 2 conference home games up to 37000 (5k increase is generous since OSU, KU, KSU, ISU, and MU rarely bring that much to our place) and even with this you are sitting at 37k. For comparison we brought over 40k to games against Sam Houston State and Buffalo.

Quote:You are only in the Big 12 thanks to politics. Please let me know what common opponents we played in the past 2-3 years that I am unaware of. There might be a few but I guarantee it is too small sample to make such ludicrous claims. You guys have been hanging out so long with UT that you are starting to sound like them.

Common opponents same year since 2000:
Rice 2007: Baylor outdrew you by 2.5k one week after TCU destroyed us with our having a lame duck coach and UH being defending CUSA champs. Rice had just been to a bowl and is 6 miles from you, which one of us likely had more rice fans? They probably showed up more in 5 minute drive across Houston than a 3 hour trip to waco.

UAB 03- BU was awful in 02 and UH was turning the ship around. We outdrew you by 13,000 in a truly awful year for us.

Northwestern State 09- Outdrew you by 14.4k when you had a strong team that should have won CUSA and was coming off a bowl win.

2001 Texas: 38k for Baylor in a dead year and 31k for UH. Since it is Texas and they will bring a big crowd either way I usually omit this since stadium size makes it unfair for UH.

similar opp not same year since 2000:
Army - BU (2006) 36k and UH (2000, 02, 04) 20k average, high was 25k.
SMU- BU 30k (2003) and UH averaged 20k with a high of 26k.
Texas Tech- Baylor avg is 38k and high is 43k. UH is 32k in 09.
TCU- 2 games average 20k. BU (2006) had just under 43k in a bad year.
Ok State- UH got 28k for a big game midway through a championship year. BU averaged 29k despite OSU typically being the last game in down years and being a lame duck game. 38k the only time it wasnt.
USF- 00 BU & 02 UH. 8,000 edge for BU. Both programs bad.

Taking UT and Tech out of it to be fair to you guys gives Baylor 157% of UH's attendance when both same year and similar years are factored in. 148% if just same year. Either way its pretty defined and if ISU is outdrawing us they would outdraw you.
(I typically use averages for the non-same year games as it slants things less and it actually helps UH in the debate anyway)

We can get into the B12 discussion with private messaging. No need to clutter the BE fan's board any more than has already been done. If you care to debate this further please PM and I will be happy to dialougue.
