RE: Temple's coach is out the door
So who does Temple pursue now that the Golden has left them??? I have mentioned that maybe they should pursue Mike Leach formally of Texas Tech on the other Conference Talk portion of this forum. So who do they go after???

Pitt OC Frank Cignetti. If Holgorsen is hired, I doubt he retains him.

Temple can't afford Leach. I think they'll go after a lower-division coach. The head coach at new hampshire is a likely candidate.

I guess Temple can be removed from the list of expansion schools.

If Skip would have stayed one more year at ECU, I bet he would have gotten the Miami gig.

I don't think so, because I don't think he would have been able to do any better than 6-6 with our team this year, meaning he wouldn't have been a very hot candidate anymore.

RE: Temple's coach is out the door
Now you will see if Temple is really committed to FB. Will they hire someone who can sustain what Golden has built. Temple is has vastly
improved under him. He took the Temple program from one of the worst if not the worst FB programs to a bowl game and back to back winning seasons. Saw some of the FB players on the news last night and they really looked let down by the recent turn of events. Good luck Temple. Hope you can keep it going.

RE: Temple's coach is out the door
I don't think Temple is a bad school what so ever they just got into a conference that was head and shoulders above them and couldn't handle it. I think if the Big East would have stepped in as a consultant or some thing to help them out all those years ago they might still be in the Big East. Now I don't know all the in's and out's that was going on at Temple at the time for I remember the administration didn't give 2cents about sports more less football at that time, but the Big East should have giving an open door policy for any thing and every thing they need to succeed, and IMO they ( Big East ) didn't care as well for they were providing a service to the other 7 football playing members as a in house patsy more less. I know I am stating stuff that is more than likely way off base, but looking back that is how I took Temple being in the Big East as an outsider with the privilege of getting the snot beat out of them each and every week as a member.

Correctamundo. Golden did a great job there and hopefully they'll continue to build the program up... IMHO, they need to bring in a coach with a similar offensive and defensive philosophy so as to not upset the apple cart at this time.

The Delaware coach might also be another good candidate. He would be familiar with the same general recruiting area.

I dont want the UNH coach. Delaware and Harvard's HCs would be better IMO.
