RE: A question for ECU fans
Knighttime, couple of known facts for you. One ECU is regional school and draws from a much larger area than Greenville and Pitt Co. We DO carry the majority of all the tv markets east of I-95, that 40 some counties and over 1 million people. Yes, UCF and ECU have close in attendance since 07, but you failed to state the fact that ECU's Dowdy Ficklen Stadium only sat 43,000 until this year, we only had higher number a couple of times when we used temp. bleachers. In our first year of the expanded DFS we averaged 49,500+ for the year. As far as the champ. game in 09, we had bad weather mid 30s and rain. Where UCF had warmer weather and no rain. That makes a BIG difference. You do have us in bb attendance, but we got you in baseball by a good margin. That evens that out IMO. For those who keep saying that we only do well in fb attendance because their is nothing else to do in Greenville, come on, stop it. No we don't have theme parks, but how many places do. No we aren't a city of 2 million, but there is plenty to do, plus we're 90 mins. from Raleigh and the beach. There are alot of things to do in and around Greenville. The BE will invite which school they think is the best fit for the BE. They may take both of us. The stupid, childess attacks on each other need to stop, this goes for ECU fans as well. I have no problem talking with people, but don't try to tell me what Greenville is like or where we draw fans from, I live in Eastern NC and have my hole life, I know, people in Orlando and other place don't.

Must be that NC education.
I think you meant your whole life. If your life is a hole, college football expansion is the least of your worries.

I'm so tired of you UCF fans, this was a question for ECU. You have at least 5 post of your own.

RE: A question for ECU fans
Thank you 'Nati Beast for posting the reasons Cincy was admitted at the same time as Louisville. You could have also mentioned the 6 Final Four appearances, the two consecutive national basketball championships, basketball hall of famers in Oscar Robertson and Jack Twyman, the 15 consecutive NCAA appearances, the dozens of times UC has been ranked #1 in the country, etc. Since joining the Big East, UC has played in two BCS bowl games, more than Louisville, Syracuse, Rutgers, UCONN, Pitt and USF and has finished in the final football poll in the Top Ten on two occasions. As for academics and research, UC has the 2nd or 3rd largest endowment of any Big East school at over $1 billion and has top-echelon medical, law, architecture, performing arts and engineering schools.

Mkm, funny you only go after my one typo......
Anything else you would like to attack in my post, guessing no. Can't argue facts. Why do you have to try and start a pissing match in every ECU thread here? It's fine if you want to promote UCF, but to go off topic in a ECU thread and attack ECU and ECU posters isn't a good refection on the school you like (UCF). It also makes you look like snot-noise little child.

We're all college graduates here I'm assuming. It's not that hard to check your posts. Just read through it real quick. If you want someone to take you seriously in the real world, you need to learn to use proper grammar. Otherwise you just look like a child.
I didn't come on here to bash ECU. I have no intention of getting into a pissing match. I think both schools are qualified to move up. I clicked on this post to read about ECU as I am interested in all expansion candidates. I simply replied to show you how one little letter can make a difference. Good luck to ECU in future expansion talks and sorry if you thought I was crashing your party.

I have 789, now 790 post 19 rep. points, I'm not worried if a spelling Nazi with 81 posts and 6 rep. points takes me seriously or not. You got what I was say, did you not. One missed typo isn't going to total discredit a person. I just love when a newbie starts the spellcheck/gramar crap. Why not stay on topic and not dis someone for a typo, good lord. It's a typo for crying out loud! You can't catch everyone of them.
Rant done........I hope.

Well congrats on your super awesome reputation.
I wasn't trying to start a fight, but it seems you want to, its funny how your argument is just like ECU's argument for Big East inclusion.

You did try to start something, your first statement "Must be that NC education" because of 1 misspelled word. Be real.

Which was a joke. Florida is like dead last in education. He was the one that went on to start the argument.

RE: A question for ECU fans
A joke that fell flat. I'm just trying make you see that your coming off like arse. It's fine to discuss teams that the BE may look at adding. It's fine to discuss the factual pros and cons of each school. But, read the posts a the top of the board titled ECU/UCF fans. They are tired of childess personal attack and jabs and bashing each school which you have done both in your posts in this thread. The mods want you to stay on topic. This thread was started by someone asking ECU fans a question, if you have something to add of value that's perfectly okay, just remember this is not the smack board and this isn't the C-USA board.

First off, I'm not one to come on and bash, so that isn't what this is about., but after reading this article, where there is clear evidence that ECU coaches are at least implying, to recruits, that a move to the BE is likely, I gotta call a "Cris Carter" here; "C'mon, man...."
Oh, the point brought up in here about post counts and reputation points; Really? There are some people in here, (and on countless other message boards as well), that have posted THOUSANDS of times and a vast majority of their posts have shown nothing other than stupidity. You can be frequent poster, but, if all that you share is ignorance, you've simply shared a lot of ignorance.

RE: A question for ECU fans
The kid could be reading some of the ECU message boards. To hear some of our faithful talk, we're getting a bid next week. I wouldn't necessarily hang this one on the coaches. Besides, when it comes to recruiting, I'm sure bigger lies have been told than "You know there's a chance we make the jump to the Big East, and you'll be on board." That said, it's pretty foolish to take anyone for their word when it comes to expansion. The ones who are actually in the know and making decisions aren't the ones doing the talking. No harm in saying that we're positioning ourself to be as prepared as possible when the next round of expansions come. Now if we could just position a million more people into pitt county because obviously no one is going to give our fans credit for living anywhere but here.

Be real, like your coaches haven't been saying that. O'Leary was caught saying that last year. This was an ECU question and you UCF fans have to try to dominate every post. I hope the BE takes you so they have to put up with your arrogance arse.

it says: " MAY be making a change to the Big East". That's not definitive. If the recruit said: " WILL be making a change to the Big East".....you would have something.
Big difference one word makes.......
Besides.....these expansion rumors have been around for years now. Who knows where the recruit got the info from. Could have been from this board for all we know.

You mean like this?
Smith met with Jones and UCF Athletic Director Keith Tribble, who he said both made him feel good about picking the Knights. He said he believes in their vision for a bright future at UCF.
"Oh yeah, we're taking the program to another level because they're moving to the Big East," Smith said. "I don't know if that's in one or two years. But I do know that we're going to be ready to compete with everyone. … I think all the other recruits who have committed are seeing what I'm seeing. Everyone wants to be part of making UCF one of the best teams in the country."
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Lets see, one of our football recruits says ECU may be making a change to the Big East and UCF fans jump on it.
One of your basketball recruits says "They're moving to the Big East."
Which sounds more definite? Apparently ya'll are already gone. Congrats.
