Womens Team
They have gone on the road and started 4-0 for the first time in their history. They beat Washington (neutral court) a bottom PAC10 team and won the Alaska Shootout by beating a Division 2 squad on their home court. This team had beaten 9 Division 1 teams in a row at this early season tournament so it wasn't a run of the mill D2 team. The only concern is that 4 starters are playing 35+ a game. Only one freshman is playing about 20 minutes and another about 15. There obviously isn't much depth and injuries could become a big issue. It appears from the box scores that Gibson is it at point guard so she needs to hold up. She has played 40, 40, 37 and 26 (foul trouble). But what the heck if they hold up physically they look like they might be a very good team.

RE: Womens Team
Lindsay has never concerned himself with the number of minutes his players play, so should we? Who knows. Maybe that is why they have had a couple earlier MAC tourney exits in recent years.
Humes and Jones obviously are talented players that can each take over a game. It would be nice if one of them could shoot, but beggars can't be choosers. The freshman Stanton won them the game on Tuesday with a double-double. She did not score, but she did have seven rebounds the next night. It would not take much to be the best inside player since Shearer.
As a side note, I have always liked Marshall's coach. I wonder if his program could have taken another step had it stayed in the MAC. BG was a monster the last few years, but Marshall appeared on the verge of being a consistent power that could have at least been a small step behind.

RE: Womens Team
I know it's been awhile but he used to play 11 players and only the point guard would play around 35 minutes. I don't think he would go that far today but he seems to always be playing with 10 or 11 on the roster (and 7-8 in the main rotation) and not 13-14 like he could. I know 10-14 usually aren't that good but they eat up minutes in blowouts and when a team is in 1st half foul trouble. We never seem to have that advantage.
Also maybe you know. Stutzman wasn't that good but she was good enough to spell Humes and Gibson 10-15 minutes a game. Do you know why she did not return?

To tell you the truth, I totally forgot about Stutzman, and that is funny because she was a good player. She was the best shooter they had by far.

RE: Womens Team
She's leading the team in scoring after 4 games. Only loss has been to Akron in an exhibition game.
