RE: ESPN HD Kent State vs Robert Morris Game
The biggest problem with LL in regards to the students is that they do not see (or understand) what he does so he gets pounded due to his large paycheck especially in these hard economic times in Ohio. He has an image problem since most students do not see him doing anything.

KSU 315. If that is what you meant with your comment I totally agree. I would hate to see the basketball budget cut to help football (or any other teams budget for that matter). Football's greatest season would be to win the MAC, win an early meaningless bowl game and finish ranked 70th in the country. I would love for that to happen but not at the expense of a basketball team having a 30 RPI and going to the sweet sixteen, a wrestling team finishing 15th or so in the country or for that matter a womens gymnastics team finishing in the top 20. I might enjoy watching football more but all the athletes should have a fair chance to achieve their maximum potential. Yes football should have the biggest budget for obvious reasons but I would hate to see it ruin all the other sports by consuming all the money.
Finally one last thing about Heather. I know she has a penetrating voice but remember your looking at someone about 40 years old who's whole life revolves around Kent. She doesn't go to just football and basketball. I see her at just about every Kent sporting event. To her the Kent athletes are like family. Let her enjoy herself.

It's not NEARLY as annoying when a "screamer' is cheering for your team. I can handle that.

Think how much she must piss off Akron fans. That has to be worth something.

RE: ESPN HD Kent State vs Robert Morris Game
I do not care in the least bit about attendance. Look at the thread on this game in May or June. We already said all of that. Having 1,500 more people in the seats for a non-televised game at 7 p.m. would not have meant 10 percent about what this could mean. If this team is decent in January and February, the ESPN talking heads have seen them once and that means something with getting the name out.
Nobody comes to Kent State so that they can get free football or basketball tickets. Some will prioritize it, but I can't blame people for worrying more about their education and their job.
As for marketing, what were they supposed to do? It was all over KentStateSports.com, even overshadowing the three games before it. You can't blow the marketing budget on one game.

RE: ESPN HD Kent State vs Robert Morris Game
Besides this is not the first time ever we have been on ESPN. Should somebody take off work just to be in a game televised for ESPN, especially since we know most people are not big fans to begin with? I like being excited for the program and a game but to expect a lot of people is just a feint hope. Think about it if they spent all of their money for the entire university into marketing this game the MACC would still not be full, ESPN would not be any more impressed, and we would be down a lot of money. I think they knew that the game was not going to be a big draw and decided to accept that.
