Now that Denver is leaving
Will we stay at 11 for basketball and 10 for football? I do think we should keep UALR and add another strong basketball school.

I really don't see why the Sun Belt has to do anything. I prefer not to see us add any schools not playing 1A football. And there's not any strong basketball schools out there as a viable candidate anyway.

How will this schedule work? The Big Ten (11) plays an 18 game basketball schedule where they play 8 teams twice and then 2 teams once is that correct? That is a rotating basis?

I've never been a fan of "rotating basis".

Although, if one football playing member leaves then we are left with the ideal numbers 10 for BB and 9 for FB.

Do you really want Murray State?

Do you want thier fans?

What happens when they want FBS football, are we obligated to let them in? Would the OVC kick them out football since they brought thier basketball here (they did us)?

I can't speak for the rest of the class, but you're presuming some knowledge here that I definitely don't have.

What's the issue with their fans? Not that I really care about adding them... But I'm curious to hear about their fans.

Lol. They're not really that bad, I just like to get a dig in whenever I can.

If you look at the entire history of our basketball program Murray is probably our biggest basketball rival of all time. The western part of Kentucky is not that big, and the two schools share it.

The thing is that until this past year, they have never done anything in the NCAA. And most of thier conference championships have come coincidentally after WKU left the OVC.

That doesn't stop them from talking some major smack. Both Dabheed and I have been banned from thier board. They're kind of sensative over there. Although I was banned pre-emptively when we blew them out of Diddle a couple of years ago. I came home from the game to see that I had been banned so that I couldn't even read the site. LOL.

Maybe we could invite them over here so that they can tell you how they would b!t@h-slap the Sunbelt and how they are really an ivy-league school.

RE: Now that Denver is leaving
just now saw this.

i'm a mule expert.

the mules have a very good tradition....just not as good as ours. that gets me BANNED FOREVER from their board. and i got BANNED for something i said on haven...not on their board.

but they play 1aa football and it is not a populous area and i don't see any way they could ever move up.

and you think the knick-knack-paddy-whack fighting that goes on between the ulala fans and ulm fans is tiring.....put them in the same conference as us and you would ban all of our fans from the conference message board.

they had their most glorious year ever in hoops last year and in probably our best game (sans vandy) we beat them. they're poised on paper to be very good again.

i really like their coach....a lot. i was hoping ulala would steal him. but as they say...they don't play the games on paper...they play them in a little box in your living room. any number of things could happen to derail them this year. i can always hope....right???
