A few pre-season schedule 'notes' before first games...
I was looking over the schedules and thought it would be nice to see a quick run-down of OOC expectations & opponents.

LIPSCOMB: OPENS Fri, Nov 12th @ #9 NORTH CAROLINA
Plays an absolutely brutal OOC schedule (only home game vs. Austin Peay and non-D1). Unless they pull some major upsets, will be looking at a nasty OOC record.

ETSU: OPENS Fri, Nov 12th @ #10 KENTUCKY
Has a challenging OOC schedule (some winnable games as an underdog), however, like Lipsomb only features two home OOC games: Tenn Tech & non-D1.

BELMONT: OPENS Tue, Nov 16th @ #20 TENNESSEE
A well balanced OOC slate... toughest game to open season ... expect quality overall record from the Bruins.

JACKSONVILLE: OPENS Fri, Nov 12th @ MIAMI (FL)
An OOC schedule where 6-3 is attainable (including one non-D1)

MERCER: OPENS Fri, Nov 12th vs. OGLETHORPE
A high difficulty in the OOC schedule, however, it does include 5 home games (non-D1, Harvard, Navy, Georgia, & Charlotte). Opposite to other ASUN teams, getting non-D1 game in as tune-up before big challenge vs. Harvard.

CAMPBELL: OPENS Fri, Nov 12th @ #23 VA TECH
A nice spread of OOC for the Camels, even while owing a few road games to VA Tech & ECU. Features 4 winnable home games (including one non-D1), while the road games will be against much tougher opponents.

KENNESAW STATE: OPENS Fri, Nov 12th vs. GEO SOUTHWESTERN
Question marks galore as KSU dropped an exhibition to a D3 school. They open against another non-D1 that will count against what sounds like an engineering firm. Their OOC will be a rough challenge, but does include two nice home games: Georgia Tech followed by Chattanooga.

NORTH FLORIDA: OPENS Fri, Nov 12th @ FLORIDA STATE
In line with UNF tradition the OOC schedule includes too-many-to-count guarantee games. They will be raking in the cash as the losses pile up. On the plus side it won't hurt their RPI.

FLORIDA GULF COAST: OPENS Fri, Nov 12th @ INDIANA
I'm surprised to see that FGCU has a nice OOC slate (considering ETSU has virtually nothing). Home games with the Miami Hurricanes, IUPUI, NC Central, and SE Missouri. Most likely teams enjoy trips to Florida.

USC UPSTATE: OPENS Sat, Nov 13th @ MICHIGAN
Only one OOC game against UNC-Asheville. The remainder of road games are against stiff competition. I hand it to them for having zero non-D1 teams, however, it's a shame their renovated arena won't see more action.

STETSON: OPENS Fri, Nov 12th @ WAKE FOREST
A nice home game with old rival Central Florida. Besides that only a non-D1 and Savannah State. The rest is made up of moderate difficulty on the road.

Mercerfan, you look like you may hit that 6-3 OOC record for JU on the head. Winnable games against Winthrop and BCC and if UF doesn't change their ways maybe even the Gators

Looking at JU's hot start I'm interested to see what they do against UF. I know I've been saying a lot about Belmont lately, but JU has really been quietly having a big start as well. Good luck and hope your team wins the rest of those 4 OOC games!
