Toledo - In Game
Lot of penalties but a good game. Baseball score.

Defense playing well except for TD which looked like maybe an 8 or 9 man front and we got burned.

Interesting EMU tried to use Hoskins as an up back on the TD series.

Hoskins is a blocker as EagleAttack noted in another post.

RE: Toledo - In Game
Hm Toledo has scored as many points as Virginia scored last week. The defense remains non impressive. The team overall is not MAC competitive so far this season. Beckman has been coach for as long as English has been at EMU and far ahead in the rebuilding process. True we had some starters out this game but L Thomas has been out for most of the year and even with Fort in the game we've not stopped anyone. Where is Scott in the offense?
Gillett two interceptions after he showed good progress in not turning the ball over. Greene had two long runs last week reading the blitz not this week.
No starters from the offensive line missing. Like to see how we do against Buffalo, WMU and NIU.

I'm starting to believe that Gillett's BSU performance may have simply been the game of his life and not necessarily an indication of things to come.

How anyone can be positive about this program is beyond me. There is nothing to be positive about.

He had a rough game but he wasn't helped by predictable play calling and bad pass blocking.

Defense has improved but offense just never happened.

Couldn't agree more. And people wonder why EMU students are U-M or State fans. It's damn hard for people to root for their own team when their own team sucks so badly.

Yeah, as someone who works as a staff member at EMU and even teaches a class with some of the guys from the team and sees how hard they work... I try very hard not to be critical... They do work hard both on and off the field
