RE: Wow. Just Wow. Open letter from HillBuzz
1. Never heard of "Kevin DuJan" (sp?) and never heard of hillbuzz.org. Is he/it well-known?
2. Didn't read the entire letter, but did read a good bit of it.
3. The author contends that 31st May 2008 is some sort of milestone in the history of the Democrat Party. Not really. At the national level, the Democrat Party was an alliance of the Far Left and the Moderate Left long before that day, and it has remained so ever since.
4. The date was significant in the '08 campaign merely because it was then that the Democrat-establishment types -- after having mumbled the same message under their breath since February/March -- finally came out in the open and effectively told HRC and WCJ that the nomination was going to Obama, and they (the Clintons and their acolytes) would just have to suck it up and deal with it.
5. Some of the hardcore Hillary people had a hard time dealing with this. I am sure a few of them voted for McCain/Palin, and I am sure a few more of them sat it -- the Fall Campaign -- out. But the idea that "millions" and "millions" of them have sworn some sort of eternal vendetta against the Democrat Party is just dumb. Nothing of the sort has occurred.
6. And even if something of the sort had occurred, it wouldn't be for the reasons DeJan claims. There were no great ideological barriers between the Clinton and Obama camps. Nor were there any deep tactical/strategic disagreements. Basically, the whole situation boiled down to the fact that two candidates with deeply-loyal constituencies sought the nomination at the same time, yet only one of them could actually get it. Amidst the murky, clandestine world of intra-party politics, one of those two candidates (Obama, as it turned out) eventually gained the upper hand, and there were some sore feelings from the losing camp. It wasn't the first time that happened in US politics, and I daresay it won't be the last time, either.

There is a lot of tin-foil hattery in that letter.

I cannot believe, that someone as hard core Dem as this guy claims to be, and his claim that there are millions like him, will sit out this election or work to vote out Obama Democrats.

Just. Don't. Believe. It.

Don't for one minute believe that disillusioned Democrats would pull a lever for a conservative Republican in any large number, and don't for a minute think that this guys rant remotely takes into consideration the short term memory of Americans (e.g 9/11.)

It'll be polictics as usual as soon as the economy recovers, and American's will go back to fighting about teh gheys, guns rights, abortion, ****** schools etc. When the lines are clearly re-drawn, it'll show this joker's Democrats firmly on the side of the........ Democrats.

In addition, I just don't believe that a New Clintonian presidency would be all that different from the Obama presidency - the writing (demands for health reform, immigration reform etc) where blindingly written in neon on the Democratic wall. Same shite, different person. Hell, McCain may have started down some of this path as well, considering.... (seperate rant)

Quote:would win elections for generations with the Obama coalition of blacks, Leftist elites, Hispanics, low information gay voters, and self-hating Jews.

I'd like to be fly on the wall at that party.....
