RE: Grizzlies vs. Hawks (10/27) Game Thread
Went to the game and was pretty disappointed. After Z-Bo went down, I pretty much expected a loss. That being said, I was not encouraged by a lot of what I saw.
Not impressed with the play of Tony Allen, Acie Law, and OJ Mayo.
Defense needs to improve, but Atlanta is one of the strongest offensive teams in the league.
Thabeet was effin horrible tonight. Atrocious. Disgusting. Pathetic. Feel free to throw any other negative word out there. He was completely lost. He showed no offensive ability whatsoever. And it seemed as if he was trying to get out of position on defense. I've reluctantly supported this guy since we've drafted him, but he is just horrible. Cut ties already.
Hopefully, we can get similar play from Rudy and Conley. Both guys need to step their games up during clutch time, but I saw some nice play there.
We're starting to see some signs of life from the bench. Once Marc and Zach are healthy, Xavier, Sam, and Darrell should be able to handle the majority of the load for the second team. Hopefully Vasquez will be an improvement over Acie Law, as I was not impressed tonight. I'm not sure what to say about our backup center position, though.
It's one game and the Hawks are a decent team. We have a lot of work to do. Sadly, I have never seen one player be so detrimental to his team as to what I saw from Thabeet.

...and we'll win over half of those remaining 81 barring injuries.
Doesn't take away the fact that Thabeet is HORRIBLE and it's stupid to play all your bench at once when they aren't that good.

Amazing how far the Grizzlies have come since the first game of the season.

8 NBA teams still playing basketball this May. Memphis and Atlanta are 2 of them. Who'd a thunk it for both these teams when this thread started 6 months ago?

Jk. I, like most Memphians, just hoped for a playoff win. Everything from here on out is gravy. The crazy thing is, we have a chance.
Believe Memphis

I know what you're saying, but at this point for me it's gone beyond gravy, I really want to make it to the western finals.
