Not to look ahead too much, but what are the chances NIU comes out in black jerseys before the Toledo game? If they do this, I hope they do it right and come out in the normal home reds for pregame warm ups then black right before the game. Some sort of fog effect would also be pretty sweet when coming out of the YC before the games. I'm going to put the chances at about 62%. If they do black jerseys and auction them off, I know what I'm buying myself for Christmas.

Which is why you auction them off after the game like the baseball team does with their St. Pattys jerseys. All profits go to charity.

Black jersey's on the Blackout Day would be SWEET. I loved when we used to have the black pants, black jersey, and black helmet - very cool!

That'd be sick. Especially if that game was for the possibility of being ranked.

And I'm one who doesn't miss the late 90s uniforms, and doesn't like the idea of letting black dominate a uniform that right now perfectly represents NIU colors.

The only thing I don't like about it is that I think it fires up the opponent more than the home team - a al ND's green uniforms. There record is terrible in those things recently: 1-5 over the last six times they wore them (although their record in white and navy isn't much better the last 15 years!).

1) Selling them and giving the proceeds to a charity doesn't make them any more affordable

2) I'm pretty sure the color of the jersey has little effect on the actual game...Notre Dame has just been a bad football program for the majority of the past ten years

I have to disagree (not with the ND being bad part - and it's been a lot longer than 10 years). Putting on a special jersey is the equivalent of bulletin board material and gives the opponent special incentive to beat you.

I think it makes, like, zero difference. Anyone watch Oregon beat ass in their unique jersey? Its for the fans. To add some new look....something to get excited about. Thats it. Lets not over think it.

I'm really hoping this happens.

+1. The all black would be cool for one game, but I prefer the current scheme of cardinal and black. Those uniforms in the 90's reminded me of the "Mean Machine" in the original Longest Yard. Plus we sucked when we wore black in the past.

It would also be cool if there was a laser light show, and the team came out through a giant Huskie head with paws that shot flames in the air. How much money do the Huskies have?

But, I'd be in for supporting the All Blacks. If they go all black, I suggest they tone down the helmet colors as well, sort of like how Texas Tech has done.
