Huskie All-Access
What do you guys think of the new Huskie all-access? One of the few things I loved on it was the ability to go back and view archived football games. That feature either is not working or is no longer available. I like the old version better!

RE: Huskie All-Access
One thing that I really enjoyed on Sat was that they covered the post game press conferences for both schools. I also enjoy the coaches show on Thurs nights.

Another comment is that it is so fun to lsiten to Bill Baker and crew when they are off the air during the commercial breaks, some of that is funny but it also shows how comitted they are to putting a high quality broadcast on the air. The crew of Baker, Lindo and Kahler are the unsung heros of Huskie Football.

One final comment is that it is cool to see the band perfom at halftime. You no longer get to see that on televised football games.

+1 on everything you said. It is very entertaining listening to Bill Baker and company during the breaks. I also enjoyed the post-game press conference after the game.

The video feed was very good. I was able to enlarge the video to fit my monitor and it looked nice, 100x better than the Akron feed.

In this day and age, I can't believe that they are not able to have consistent feeds every week.

I think they do a good job on the football broadcasts. I enjoy listening to them for those games. But, for basketball, they are terrible. They do a basketball game broadcast exactly the same way they do a football game. You CAN'T do that! In football there is a ton of down time between plays. Most of the time the clock is moving in a football game, there is no action going on. That means they can tell stories, talk about things, do whatever. In basketball you just can't do that. There is too much going on, it's a different game and has to be broadcast differently. Good basketball broadcasters tell you who has the ball and is doing what with it all the time. They paint you a picture of the action going on at the time and you can envision it. Good broadcasters don't just give a name mention every now and then on every other pass and then notify you that a shot was taken but you don't know if from the right corner, behind the 3-point line out top, or wherever. They can't tell their stories and talk about the old-timers or about other things when a basketball game is going on and people are tuned in to hear the game. We either need to get them to learn how to broadcast basketball or get someone else to do the basketball games. But they can keep on doing what they do for football games. Sorry for the vent, but it bugs me when I have to try to listen to any game on the radio and can't tell what is going on.

I was watching via channelsurfing and my feed went in and out consistently… constantly buffering. It could have been my personal connection speed. Last time I actually purchased the game through Huskie Access and didn't have a problem.

I'm wondering if anyone else had a problem with channelsurfing or was it just me? I'm trying to decide if I should just shell out the $7 bucks or whatever it costs for the next time to get a better feed.

Because channelsurfing is NOT a legal platform it relies on people receiving the feed to then upload it, i believe. It could be the invidual's bandwidth OR it could be some kind of redistributing server's bandwidth. I'm not quite sure how it works..but i know you are not getting the feed straight from the source.

RE: Huskie All-Access
I had the same experience as Wolfe 23. The video feed from Huskie All Access was fine.

It was not as clear as a televison broadcast but it was good enough to allow me to enjoy the game and I suspect that it will only get better over time. I am very pleased that I purchased the package and I feel that it is a good value.

Shell out the the money for the CBS Huskies All-Access. At least with CBS you get a month's worth of access to NIU premium content. Plus, i think some of that money goes to NIU. If you purchase the All-MACcess feed from mac-sports.com you only get to watch that one game for $7.95 (or whatever the price is) and their video feed is usually horrible.

After this weekend's game the next two games will be on ESPN3.com. Their online feed is great. Although, on ESPN.com's NCAAF scoreboard page they're reporting the NIU vs. CMU game as being on ESPN3.com as well, but when i went to ESPN3.com i didn't see the game listed.

I should have mentioned that I didn't watch the game via All-Access, I was merely getting the feed through channelsurfing and I had no problems at all. The quality of the video feed was good and I never lost the feed at all. I was also able to see the post-game conferences after the game.

Huskie359, I have a feeling it may have been something on your end. Next time try to either use a different browser or make sure there aren't any issues with your internet connection. I don't think it would be worth paying for All-Access as the difference in quality of the video feed would probably be minimal.
