also, who is the bozo that brought in a scottish bagpipe group when the theme was stated as IRISH music. horrible.

i don't claim to know anything about the band, but it looked absolutely stupid having twirlers out there trying to twirl to slow paced bagpipe music, while most of the other band members just stood around because there was nothing to play.

The bagpipes were brought in at the last minute in the hope that our defense would hear them and be p!ssed off for the 2nd half. :cursin: bagpipes!

I like pagpipe music but Ireland's not even British, right? Or is Scotland english but Ireland isn't an they're both British? Maybe it was NORTHERN Irish music in which case I think it's all okay.

I think what worried me most was the kid went down immediately after they announced "Amazing Grace." yeah. 900 people playing Amazing Grace while down for the count. I was expecting to see a soul rise off the carpet.

Fortunately, the kid walked off the field.

Took a quick look back at photos - bagpipers were also at the Western Michigan game in 2007.

KILTS!!! Skirts are worn by women. And the Scots and the Irish are very closely related. Bagpipers can be either Sottish or Irish. You would have to see the sett of the tartan to really determine the origin of the piper. Chicago police or fire have a pipe band that is Irish based.

I thought this thread was about the kid (college age) in Section 6 playing with his new (presumably) iPad during the second half.

I actually thought this thread related to something we lack.
Fans that don't get it.
We have way to many fans sitting on their rears not interacting .
This yeah I know.. say no more, same old hat, same old typical UT spectator that is attending just to kill time.
Nothing else to do and no understanding that our NOISE counts toward game changing plays.
I'm getting tired of the fan that needs something to happen before they get interested.
We need fans who are loud and louder..
