Was just listening to the Score in my car, they were ripping on Cardinal Stritch, and how nobody in the studio had heard of the school. They said apparently NIU beat them, but that they took the game out of their updates because the school was so unimportant?

Whats with these A**holes? How could they possibly suck this bad?

I have commented against the Score before, and their lack of talent, but I honestly never heard of Cardinal Stritch either.Not many have. My dad in his 70's actually knew who Cardinal Stitch was, Chicago Archbishop in the 40's and 50's

They are in the same conference(Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference) as Purdue-Calumet and Trinity it appears. That's pretty low. I think it was more of the opponent the making fun of NIU.

Granted, and thanks for your input. But when a D1 program PAYS for airtime on your network why slam them time and time again? Some networks might do something entirely crazy and support their client. Its so bizarre that we're fighting them on the issue of not slamming our program. Its as if no one is overseeing there content?

The way they talk about NIU, it's no wonder the listenership is low. Though I don't know enough about this to dispute your assessment at all.

I'd add this to the above:

How many guys who want to sports radio or TV personalities grow up rooting for lesser known teams? Maybe 1 in a 1000 has an affinity for an NIU-esque school? 1 in 10,000?

So every McNeal, Patrick, and Herbstreit are dyed in the wool Notre Dame / USC / Ohio State / Tarheels / Duke / Texas etc etc etc fans.

And with the locker room mentality so present on sports radio, would you want to be on the receiving end of a merciless grilling when you pull for a MAC school that loses 54-7 to Michigan? Human nature and al that.

To them, saying good things about NIU is like kissing your little sister.

(I'm not a giant fan of sports radio any longer when 2 of 3 local sports stations are now ESPN 1000 affiliates and my morning drives are filled with crapola about the Red Sox, the Yankees, the Giants and Pats. I actually replaced one of the sports stations with NPR (shoot me now) Thank Huskie there is a local station up here with an awesome non-sports drive home show.....)

My God, I listened to that segment too and it's not even close to as bad as you're making it out to be.

They're right. Have you ever heard of Cardinal Stritch before Sunday? I haven't.
