Troy vs. East Carolina

GMAC Bowl

Toledo vs. Louisiana

UL has 5 of their last 7 on the road and will likely need to win 5 more games to get a bowl. Pretty tall order. MT's schedule, after GT, is much more manageable with three home conference games remaining. MT has the head to head win over UL also.

i think that as long as the conference champion is accommodated with another bowl game, the team that they pick can be anyone from the conference as long as they are bowl eligible.

Correct. One of the side effects of the "6 gets you bowling rule" is that the N.O. Bowl has first choice, but is no longer obligated to host the champion. So, correct, as long as the conference champ gets accommodated somewhere a hypothetical 6 win Cajun team gets the invite. There is no secret to this.
