Wow Ball State long TD run...beating CMU 21-3. CMU's reign is over.

CMU grasping for straws and their screen pass is picked off by a Ball State defensive lineman. Ouch.

Unreal. CMU still looked like a good team before today. That's a BAD loss. Just about as bad as about 5 years ago when we lost to Ball State at home by the same score.

I remember that game. Thing about that game, Ball State had a lot of players missing their first few games, they were better than their record indicated at that point. And Lynch was making some really nice throws for them in that game. If that's the game I'm thinking of.

I hate Iowa but gotta give credit where credit is due... their crowd tonight is pretty damn impressive. On ABC nonetheless... that's pretty good for recruiting right there.

I support whoever said that Scheelhaase was bad.

He really doesn't have one positive skill throwing the ball. At least Juice had a strong arm.

Juice's arm was too strong. He didn't know what the word touch meant.

I still think Scheelhaase will eventually end up being a decent QB. This year is obviously going to be rough for him.

Don't want to turn this into a thread about the Illini but Scheelhaase is VERY smart for a freshman. He makes better decisions as a freshman than Juice did as a senior. You can make him a better passer, but you cant always teach instincts and playing smart.

He may never have a rocket arm but plenty of QB's like him have been successful in college.

That being said, I've heard a lot of people say that Reilly O'Toole from Wheaton Warrenville South will be the starting QB next year.

Move Scheelhaase to WR. He's a great athlete.

I'm not saying Scheelhaase will be an All-American or anything like that but I think we'll look back on this comment and laugh.

Remember though, NIU hasn't taught Grady how to throw the ball yet. Maybe Illinois has a coach who knows how to teach throwing mechanics?

Most popular player on the team is the backup QB, or in this case the one who isn't even on campus yet.

No surprise that this thread turned into an Illinois bash fest, that's to be expected around here. Kind of amazes me that the game on 9-18 was two weeks ago, yet everything Illinois does is criticized here.

It might surprise you, but almost all of Illinois fans believe that Scheelhaase is doing fine, and isn't as bad as some people around here seem to claim he is. He's a freshman, freshman struggle.

The Stanford/Oregon game should be on ESPN2 for you than I think.

This is an Illini bash fest? I think everyone in here would say that Illinois exceeded expectations today and played pretty well. That doesn't mean I'm going to say that Scheelhaase is a great QB and is going to be the next Peyton Manning. I was watching the game and made an observation...he's bad.

The few of us talking about Scheelhaase are actually Illini fans too. Tard.
