It would have been about the most you could hope for. Well, he's done that.
I know there have been some questions - but looking at the big picture - I think he just may be doing what needs to be done to win over the span of the season.
For these reasons I am now starting a fund for the Coach Kill Statute to be erected outside of Huskie stadium for future generations of Huskie fans to admire. It will be like the Red Grange statute outside of memorial stadium in Champaign, only not as austentacious (my god, that thing is huge -- it's like 2 stories high -- ridiculous) I am serious about this, so, if you can help in any way, IM me. Thanks.
Thoughts on including any of these? Fletcher, Mallory, Pettibone, Sadler, Novak?
(OK, the Sadler was initially a joke, but after thinking about it, why not include the b4$trd and hand out free eggs for people to throw at him!)
Where does the Corso statue go?

I'll stop you there. The answer is no. If ANY Big 10, Big 12, SEC, PAC 10, or heck maybe even a Big East team came calling, Kill would be gone. And who could blame him. That's the nature of today's game.
But last I checked, Kill is 15-14 as a coach at NIU. He's not exactly on his way to a promotion.
Tell that to Turner Gil.
Kind off of topic, but when are we going to retire Wolfe and Turner's numbers?
Turner's, when he donates some significant money, not before. There are guys that have made less and donated more, so . . . you see my point. Wolfe's? Don't know. He doesn't make all that much, so not looking for huge money from him. You can't really afford to retire numbers in college football. You may have noticed, we play with double numbers as it is. We actually play two number fifteens for example.

I was waiting for that!!! I think Lee deserves not one, but two statues. He was very energetic, enthusiastic, and full of promotion when he was here. So in his honor, two statutes -- one in the urinal on the East side, and one on the West side. You with me?

RE: Coach Kill Statue
There's a better chance of a statute. Like when the state legislature passed a resolution proclaiming some random day NIU Huskie Day after the Silicon Valley Bowl.
If they find the money this is what I envision
http://www.flickr.com/photos/ryancordell/3628353248/
With Kill on the left and Meco on the right, football-themed (a football instead of a baseball, no glove, an oversized helmet instead of a cap for Meco, and Kill holding a straw hat). Underneath, "Okay, you won the coin toss!" Underneath that, "No discrimination with regard to ability"

Just build something off the Droid pig dog. Put a leash on Droid and have coach novak holding the leash with coach Kill riding on Droid's back..

No doubt.. one vote in the AP poll definitely deserves a statue.

That includes three wins over FCS schools. Take those out and he has a losing record against FBS schools. And only one win against a school with winning record. He is a long way from a statue IMO.

RE: Coach Kill Statue
George Bork is the most sensible choice for a statue at this juncture. Huskie stadium is the "House that Bork built". Two decades from now a "Kill" statue would make sense, if he hangs around for a decade or more.

I've actually contacted a company that does alot of mascot and historical bronze statues. Its 40k for a 7ft bronze statue + plaque. The base to mount it would be another variable that perhaps NIU would spring for if we delivered a statue. I thought of setting up a fundraising trust account and website?

+2. A statue like this and/or plaques at the stadium will only help to highlight our past and establish traditions.

I think it's a great idea. I have a website- we could just have the website include a section on making donations. We could probably build a ring of websites to do the same. Can we be reasonably sure we can get a company that would make a statue that actually looks lifelike?

Make sure it's not the same company that did a certain mascot in our end zone.:-)
