Early game recap
I wanted to post this here because I came away very impressed with how NIU played today. Despite the distractions that the Huskies had all week, they played a great game against a Big Ten team. A win would have been nice, but even in the loss, the Huskies looked solid for four quarters.

RE: Early game recap
The Huskies played well. My biggest concern was that the IL offense was completely one dimensional. I don't think the Illini QB ever wanted to throw a pass (though he did convert a couple of key third downs in their final touchdown drive) Had we played a team with a similar offensive line and running scheme that also had a QB that could complete passes downfield it probably would have been ugly.

RE: Early game recap
We are every bit as good as Illinois. It was a virtually even game the entire way no matter how much some of our ignorant fans want to bash our play calling or coaching or whatever. We had every opportunity to win that game and we didn't. Two things changes the complexion of that game.

1. Us going for 2 on the first touchdown. I don't agree with the call at all, but I understand the gamble. We were chasing points the rest of the game and it changed everything in the second half.

2. Harnish's fumble. The only turnover of the game. Ahhhh, what might have been. We could've been going in for the go ahead score.

+1
Also the DI call against NIU on 3rd and 14 cost us a TD.
