Early hoops publications picking Ohio to win MAC
Athlons and Lindy's picked Ohio to win the MAC. This was before Coleman left the program, so that might be an * with these predictions.
Bobcats will be led by Cooper, Freeman and Washington. all three double digit scorers. Copper MAC leader in assists and Freeman leader in 3pt%.

Looks like the usual suspects in contention Akron, Kent State, Miami plus Ball State and CMU in the west.

Congratulations. Those early hoops publications are always right about picking the MAC.

Kent State just hopes to get 13 young men interested in the program this year.

Losing 6 guys along with the heart and soul of the team, who says it's a joke? We have a true rebuilding year ahead of us.

Are the same mighty Bobcats who knocked off Georgetown and have the recruiting class we've heard so much about really afraid of a bunch of inexperienced freshmen and underclassmen? If that bulls eye on your back is getting to you- maybe you know a rapper who could sing about it. You know, let it out and all.

Sporting News had the MAC listed as a major conference. So they are the best in my opinion.

They had Ohio winning it too.

1994 was Ohio's last regular season title. Ohio has had just 1 bye in last decade in MAC tournament.

Honestly I think EMU will a factor in the West, we've hearing good feedback on our JUCO point guard Lampley and other JUCO wing Stewart. In addition if Thompson is eligible this year it gives us another option at guard. We still have Green, Bowdry and Higgins from last year's starters. While it will be difficult to replace Medlock and Dobbins, we should still field a competitive team. Alot of the MAC West teams have lost significant talent as well.

i didn't realize there was "significant talent" in the west. it's really who wants to become a cohesive team and win. EMU has some decent players, ball st has a good big guy and might be starting to play better in taylor's system. central has the top freshman talent in the league and maybe more overall talent than the division. NIU has been poor and had off season troubles and a coach w issues. toledo was poor and had a coach w issues but will have a new staff in place, some new players and a better atmosphere around the team.

i don't think anyone runs away w it. and anyone but NIU could win it, but probably w a mac record little better than 500

OU and Akron look like the best teams in the conf. miami and kent will be solid as usual. buffalo and bg would likely be threats in the east.

This should be a pretty down year for the West. NIU and Toledo are both a mess and WMU has to replace Kool. I agree that the division winner will once again be about 9-7. If I was pressed right now, I'd say it's going to be Ball State edging out CMU and EMU in that order.

I really like Ball State in the west. They signed Jesse Berry (PG) who was the 2nd highest rated recruit (below Zigler) in the MAC per ESPN.

No kidding. It's usually a good move to find out who the media is picking last and then heading to Vegas for a futures bet.

Can we change the subject, under my doctor's orders. Depression meds will only do so much.
