Not Dissing wmu, but
Misdemeanor State is going to get its collective @ss kicked this year! Cousins, wouldn't make it at EMU. And Brian Pickelman, aren't you glad you chose mSU over CMU?! Six hours after you graduate, no one will care, or remember you. Oh, except for all the felons you played with!

RE: Not Dissing wmu, but
First off, why AREN'T you dissing WMU?!?!?! Are you not feeling well, CE?
I actually think State looked fine. They definitely went into conservative mode after getting up by 21, but I didn't see any major issues. Their secondary actually looks improved.
Personally, I was surprised how good Michigan's offense looked. The defense still isn't that impressive, IMO. More a case of UCONN playing lousy in the first half (how many dropped passes? Ten?).

I feel fine, thank you. Carder, showed me more than Cousins. WORSTern has/had no running game to speak of, and their dbs looked like typical MAC dbs - nobody "LOOKING" for the ball! That just drives me crazy! Tim Banks, at Cinci continues to get BURNED, BURNED, BURNED! I don't want to hear anyone telling me Banks is a good defensive coordinator! Betcha Cody Kater is feelin' like sh!t today! I'm really pi$$ed about the Bears' releasing Dan! Those phfuckers are gonna pay! Okay, on to Philly!

Yeah, I agree with you about Banks. It's clear to me that much of our defensive improvement came from his co-DC last season.
I actually liked what I saw from our DBs in game one. For the most part, they were in position, and they made some plays. Addae deflected a couple passes, and Seay got a pick despite haveing his wrist wrapped up for some reason. There's also definite speed. On a play that was called back due to holding (and the call was good), one of our CBs ran down a Hampton receiver, after it seemed like he was gone for the EZ. Shades of Josh Gordy. Wish I knew who that was.
Yeah, WMU will have a one-dimensional attack, for the most part. Carder did look uncomfortably good, but then, he has a veteran receiving corps. Ours needs to find its hands and quickly. WMU's defense, though, looked little better than last season, if at all. I think our improved rushing attack will give them some trouble. And the DBs continue, as you stated, to look overmatched.
