Nevada did not sign a $5M buyout clause
From the Reno, NV newspaper:

Contrary to national news reports, Nevada did not sign the WAC's $5 million buyout clause that would have made it prohibitive to consider a move to the Mountain West Conference, multiple sources with knowledge of the situation have told the RGJ.

Reports today indicated that all eight WAC schools had signed the clause on the heels of Boise State's departure for the Mountain West in 2011.

Nevada has been extended an invitation to join the Mountain West, and President Milton Glick said the university is "strongly considering" the opportunity.

Fresno State was also invited and the Fresno Bee is reporting that the Bulldogs have accepted the offer.

if we do, I hope we do not, but if we do, the terms of admission should include the same 5 million exit fee that they were willing to sign onto in the WAC.

I usually don't hold grudges, but this team is an exception.
