Letter to students: where goodness lies
Nice affirmation for entrepreneurship. I wish people like Randy Alcorn understood this before they write their sanctimonious drivel.

While I would agree that being a socially responsible business owner is a great goal and one to be applauded.....I really have no problem with a business owner that is not... as long as he is not committing theft, fraud or violence in his business dealings. The mere fact that he is providing an exchange of income for the labor of the employees to better their lives with is enough for me to admire.

I will defer to the marketplace in this issue. If consumers deem that social responsibility is as important as price,quality and service...then it will be a factor in ones decisions as a businessman as to maintaining market share.

Me too. And my takeaway was that was the intention of the article. I think she highlighted the extreme social good of a few cases just to grab the attention of the reader, and demonstrate that gov't and social agencies aren't surpassed by business.
