2010 CAA MEN’S SOCCER PRE-SEASON COACHES POLL
RICHMOND, Va. (August 9, 2010) – UNC Wilmington, which returns 10 starters from last season’s 14-3-5 squad that captured its first CAA men’s soccer title, is predicted to repeat as conference champion again this season according to a vote of the league’s 12 men’s soccer coaches.

The Seahawks claimed the top spot in the poll after receiving eight of a possible 11 first-place votes and 114 total points. Old Dominion was second in the voting with 100 points while 2008 champion George Mason got one first-place vote and was third with 96 points. Northeastern received two first-place votes and was fourth with 89 points and William and Mary placed fifth with 83 points. James Madison, which also picked up a first-place vote, was sixth, Hofstra and VCU were tied for seventh, Towson was picked ninth, Delaware and Drexel were tied for 10th and Georgia State was 12th.

(Teams received 11 points for a first-place vote, 10 for second, etc. Coaches were not allowed to vote for their own team.)
