It was a joke, Kill refers to himself as a machine, and it became a running joke for some NIU fans. I'm not actually suggesting Toledo can't or won't compete with NIU, I'm sure they can.

I'm not so sure he was uninformed. I think there had to be an oversight.

As for the joke, we all know that NIU fans think of Toledo as a rival so you hate Toledo. And with not thinking of NIU as a rival, I had no idea that your coach thinks of himself as a machine. Since BG fans rip Toledo's coach because they think he acts like he is a recruiting machine and always brings up that Toledo had the #1 ranked recruiting class in the MAC..........well, you get the idea.

See, if Toledo and NIU fans really thought they were rivals, then his post wouldn't have been a joke and my post would have made more sense. I just get bored with BG fans because they are so ignorant.......that's why I come here. Even MD isn't as ignorant as 99.8% of the BG fanbase so it's fun to talk and banter over here.

Thinking a team is a rival has nothing to do with my ability to make a joke. I make jokes about the White Sox and Twins all the time even though I wouldn't mind if a meteor happened to destroy their new stadium.. just as I will make jokes about the Bears awfulness to a Packers fan.

This isn't life or death.. it's sports. I'll make a joke regardless if it's to a rival or a fellow Huskie fan.

And yes.. MD is uninformed. Pay zero attention to anything he says, he does not speak for NIU fans.

I wouldn't care if someone was a rival, I'd still make a joke, that's my point. Jerry Kill being a machine is a joke, regardless if I'm talking to a rival or anyone else.

I don't let a sports rivalry stop me from making jokes at my expense (like a Jerry Kill being a machine joke) or their expense (like a joke about your apparent lack of education, that has made this concept so hard for you to grasp).

Nevermind. I see your point, and that is fine, but you are not seeing my point. My point is that it wouldn't be a joke if we were true rivals......you might joke about some things, but that in particular you would be seriously smack talking about. But like I said, nevermind.
