First commitment
"Bloomington South senior guard Spencer Turner, considered one of the top shooters in the state of Indiana, has committed to play at Belmont.

The 6-foot-2 Turner visited Belmont earlier in the week and made his decision on Friday.

Turner also had offers from IPFW, Coastal Carolina and Gardner-Webb."

from Louisville Courier journal.

ESPN insiders has him as a 75

he is listed anywhere from 6-2 to 6-4

the prevailing opinion is he will have trouble defending at the D1 level but can shoot the lights out.

He seemed to get some high major looks early but seemed to tail off later. Belmont had offered another guard from Louisville earlier in the summer but he was getting much more interest from high majors so I am guessing they pulled off of him and offered Turner. Looks like a typical Belmont player and you can't have too many shooters. May be another Johny Rice?

RE: First commitment
Byrd loves shooters, and rightfully so. This kid has a silky smooth stroke and certainly fits the Byrd prototype: "Spencer Turner might as well have been in the movie Hoosiers. He is fundamentally sound, can shoot it from deep and has strength and poise unlike most players his age. He has also learned to use his shot fake to get defenders in the air and then can..."(ESPN Insider).

His "growth edge" will definitely be on the defensive end.

Nice pickup for you guys.
