5th in West. 8 wins last year. I'm assuming they will put us ahead of ULM, but I really don't know what they have. They do have a new coach that I think will do well in the long run.

I'm more concerned with where we'll finish Pappy, then where people think we will. But if I had to guess, with 5 seniors, I would think around 3rd in the West. But it's strictly a shot in the dark as to what others are thinking.

Maybe the folks who are saying we will be picked 3rd are right. I think most coaches/writers think Steve is a good coach and last year was an aberation. Still I don't see how anyone will pick us ahead of UNT, ASU, and Denver with all those teams (who were substantially better than us last year) have coming back.

Remember we were close in a lot of games, and was playing with a post player who shot around 28% from the free throw line and a backup point guard who played 482 minutes. Replace those two with solid players and we win a lot of those close games. I think we have a few new solid players to fill those gaps this year, and I think we have a chance to be a lot better, so 3rd isn't out of the realm of possibility.

Glad you are doing it. Probably the point guard is the real key. I'm sure he can shoot better than Lionel. Can he run the team as well? No way to know that until we start playing games. I still think getting rid of Lionel was a mistake. Hope I'm proven wrong.

Sounds like 3 to 5 is the consensus? I guess that is about right. My prediction is colored by how bad we were last year. I suspect they will look at the returning players and the two previous years and pick us higher than I would.
