Here's another tip: Actually follow cross walk signs. About 4 people a week are injured or have their vacation shall we say...shortened by not simply following the walk/don't walk signs. There's taxi's with drivers who hate their job and want their 8 hours to get over as quick as possible and tourists behind the wheel are usually looking up at the lights and the signs and the people instead of the road. It sounds stupid but just because you don't see a car coming, you shouldn't assume you'll be able to cross the street.

I was in NYC last week to see a show. Before catching my bus at Penn Station, I went to this nearby deli to get a sandwich.
